I have been robbed by a variety of vagrant... robbers. One asked for 14 million on a 5000 cargo ship full of... something that was worth a LOT of money!
Another asked for ONE bottle of Junkers Joy*. I was diddled of a million in a small freighter, but generally I find it is about a 1million/1000 hold.
(I also got shot to death in my empty tranny as it waited for orders by a JH... Comms was down so I could sleep... woke up in my stasis pod).

If you knew he wasn't Samura and you wouldn't charge him anything, then why did you go after him in the first place?
Space is dangerous. Plain and simple. It's up to the player how he deals with it.
To be honest I didn't come across that many triggerhappy pirates and I've been hauling, mining, smuggling for hundreds of hours. In most cases you pay up and all is fine; in some you RP your way out without any losses - just start thinking like your character would.
Then again, I've pirated the hell out of players and sadly, way too many (even seasoned players) don't give a damn about RP - they even ask you to shoot them. What can you do...
It comes in handy to have a few generic responses/ideas about such an encounter written down or memorized - then just act on the situation and you'll be fine. Dying too is part of the game experience, no shame in that.

This is a multiplayer mod and majority of sane people play this game on this server for interaction

I know this is rather off topic, but as someone who actually knows what goes on behind the scenes.. please report this when it happens. We all know it happens all the time, but I don't think I've seen a single report cross the desk about it. Ever.
This server is not fully toxic to new players. I got only pirate ships btw and only thing that makes me live - piracy. ut i'm helping new players when i see them in Pennsylvania or low lvl players when i see them on list. So i returned and making that again. If u want tell me your ship name and i will contact u in space, help u with money, trade routes and any other info that u need. ta ta

There's interaction and then there's trigger happy. There's a difference.
You seem to be veteran and still unable to differ between the two and that's just as bad as being harmful towards new players.
Where did I give you that impression? Yes there are many pirates who are hoping traders say no just to blow up the transport, and that's fine. That's not the issue I am trying to point out. I'm talking about leaving poor players alone in general. I'm talking about the kind of trigger happy when you see anyone over level 30 and want to blow them up just for the sake of it. Even if the player is just starting to get on his legs and that's what I find wrong in this matter. But I think you knew that already, didn't you?
