Should Xenos be allowed to use gunboats?

I can say yes, Xenos are not best faction, dont understand why peoples so like conepts of MYFIGHTFORRIGHTOUSDEAL. But this definitely not bad faction. Factions like suicidal terrorists should exist, because it sort of terror which confronts to very mighty goverments IRL.

I mean, Xenos poor and terroristic not because some guys wanna do yet another RoS\Phantoms, but because Liberty might not leave another way for confront to them.

Instead of that, then, I'd leave their ID lines as-is and buff their ZOI to Liberty + 2 (although not in so many words as that'd mean Xenos cropping up in Sigma 17, Minor, etc, which would be gloriously funny).

If they don't have them already, add Shikoku, Hamburg, Manchester, and let them go all the way up to Coronado in the Taus. That will keep them unique and give them -plenty- of activity wiggle-room as they'll have a better ZOI than HF.

It also lets you embrace the idea that you're going to die as a Xeno. Sure, roll with that: You can die as a Xeno in Kusari, then Rheinland, then Bretonia, without breaking a sweat. Go and attack people until you're dead everywhere in your buffed-up ZOI that all your genuine pirate buddies in Liberty can't access.


Maybe instead of trying to build Xenos -tall- (giving them better fight balance, which is basically a lost cause when HF's toy-level is on par with the Coalition), we should build them -wide-. They're already got bases in independent systems bordering Liberty, so seeing them beyond just beyond Liberty's borders isn't a massive stretch.

I think.. xenos should strike on border traders, like really terrorist who just harras some sides and dont give care about borders. They just dont should have more bases, because inRP local criminals just slaught them all.

Not bad idea, but dont do it this faction really hated? I want to say.. i has some issues with hessians RP because player have tend start ooRP conversations and teach how i should do socialistic terror and how not. Xenos have had ZOI in Shikoku for years, but I personally never bothered flying there on my old Moldy Crow, back in the day. It's just.. Really far out of the way, in my opinion, especially since you can't pirate for money. It's more beneficial to try and fly as a Lane Hacker or Rogue in Shikoku, who also have ZOI there. As a Xeno, you would need to fly back to Kepler after every cargo piracy, whereas Lane Hackers and Rogues can just go for the money and stay at the bottleneck lane between Deshima and Junyo, or make a quick hop to the GC base in the southern nebula cloud.

If the Xenos had their own base in Shikoku however... Now, there's an interesting prospect. Hit foreign trade where it hurts them the most: Right inside their own borders. Honestly, this appeals to me more than the idea of having a gunboat as a Xeno, especially nowadays with battle transports being viable.

Xenos in Manchester and Hamburg are an appealing idea. Come to think of it, I'd like to see them with a single base in at least Kusari and Rheinland, so that cargo piracy wouldn't require having to constantly system-hop. I think Xenos hold less ire for the Bretonians - in fact, wayyyy back in the day, right before I left the XA, there was talks of potentially trying to get a forward group of Xeno Rocs in Leeds, back when Gallia had first invaded. The mentality behind it was that, "Oh, crap. These guys have a lot of guns and probably have enough to make it to Liberty. We should strike them now before they GET to Liberty." That said, I'm not sure how current day Xenos feel about Bretonia.

No, of course they should not get GBs. Disco suffers from a sort of capital ship inflation. Xenos are supposed to have a terrible fleet, barely holding together, that's part of their charm. Sure that means they won't be the most popular faction perhaps, but it makes them attractive as a niche.

Xenos as terrorists could be RP'd in several ways, either taking the funny drunken way or either the bloody killer machine. As instead, the Rogues (seeing their whole snub-craft , boats and bases) Their RP is much smooth and easier to cover, making fun of every situation and holding useless talks.

Anyway, I totally agree with what Taeni said. The draw in Xenos has always been the freedom to pew EVERYTHING while being outgunned as a result. Devs threw us Shikoku which surprised the living hell out of me, yet we took some RP with USI and ran with it. Honestly I don't see why we can't do similar with other space. Intercept trade heading to Liberty before it even gets there. Been doing that occasionally in Shikoku and it feels right. Lose the whole [redneck]WE DON'T LIKE YER TYPES 'ROUND THESE HERE PARTS[/redneck] but it makes rp sense for us to be there regardless.
