So far most of the people who get triggered by the changes are germans...soo idk
And them having views on a change in the game, no matter how they choose to express them, is of any less value then what non-Germans think for what reason exactly? Are they just lesser members of the community? Are all of them just suffering from a Wehraboo-stroke? I don't quite think I catch your drift, here.
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"

There are far more important things that need to be changed than some names, the name doesnt change anything RP wise so idk what the buzz about. Also dont get me wrong it just triggers you,for me as none german i dont care at all i am pretty sure most of the people that are not from Germany dont really care about that.
Also devs dont rly have to be as kind as they are, remember one important thing our devs dont get paid at all. They do all the stuff for the server out of their own free time.

And that is exactly the point. The team went out of their way to change it, to fix something that was not broken in the first place. That if anything is what irritates me the most. And now people get mildly frowned at for even just bringing it up.

Im not a German, not that I think it would matter, but to me it looks just weird. Koeln seemed very fitting, Cologne seems out of place.
I mean if Gallia was under the omegas, then "maybe" it would not look that bad. On the other hand it might be confusing.
Especially after house specific audio for NPCs was introduced.
This seems like a case of: When it is not broken, do not fix it.
And yes, there are other more pressing things that need to be done.

Devs chose the former seeing as all other systems also have English names (Burgundy instead of Bourgogne, Picardy instead of Picardie, etc.). Nothing wrong with that, it could've gone either way. It makes more sense to continue naming systems in English than to start changing the system name convention now.
just thinking, i can see why this was done, but also thinking, that as the sound files were changed to their native "system" language, why not have the names in that language as well
Ultimately this is an English Language server and the Neuralnet navmap is InRp run by a company with its roots in an English-Speaking house. There's both InRp and Oorp reasons to do this.
Also, the entire Rheinland development chat agreed on it when it was tabled.

This is only another display of Gallic superiority. We need not even take over the systems now, we just rename them into our own language. It starts with Cologne.
Seriously though, it's about coherence. You don't see me complain (at least not as much as I could) about Picardy and indeed Burgundy. Go ahead and try to pronounce Bourgogne right on the first go, however.
I can see how people are pissed, I'd be pissed if my Bourgogne suddenly became Burgundy, but Koeln was the exception. The rest of Rheinland was already English'd, so it's merely a matter of coherence.
And ultimately, you're not bound by what's written on the world map in your RP. Call things however you like, Koeln/Cologne, doesn't matter since it's the same ! I take the utmost, obstinate pleasure in refering to the Bourgogne and Picardie systems, or the VALEUR battleships. People still understand and it adds authenticity. Not really a problem to me, then.
