A much more logical thing would be the wings folding in on docking for example, i mean you are docking on a carrier they will have limited space (as your shields go down when you dock so it could be added possibly into the docking animation. A button you could just press and the wings would fold would rule though, from an RP standpoint. Guns could not be able to fire with the wings folded in so it would become a "peaceful" posture.

the wings are a separate part on vanilla ships anyway, so it would be possible to rig something like this up for a vanilla ship.

Hmmmm, I just had an idea. On vanill ships the wings are seperate. This means that there has to be some sort of subroutine tht keeps them connected to the ship.

We could possibly create something where if the docking lights come on, or cruise engines engages etc etc...the wings move from position A, to position B (Folded), how to move them slowly is another question, move them to point after point? Is it possible to move them...? I think it is....

I wish I knew how to code:(Might be more help then.

Seth

All I know about programs I learned from tron, but I think it would look something like this:

if cruise_eng=true; fold_wng=true

if cruise_eng=false; fold_wng=false

Yes, its just finding out if that subroutine is in the sourcecode (We can't alter it) or in the .ini files (can alter it)

*Goes off to think*

Well, 'd say the fact that someone managed to do it means that there is a way to do it without mucking about in source code. Personally, I'd like it to be part of the cruise animation. That would look sooo cool... although the new ships wouldn't be able to do it.

I can think of only three ships that would be able to effectivly use it; the Defender (obvious), Anubis (Defender clone) and the Rhineland one... Valkary. The Crusader has nothing that would fold, and the Dragon's find shouldn't move- they're decroive.

' Wrote:If Guardain have folding wings what about Wrath ?

"Guardian" I think you'll find is how its spelled, also...
I think you'll find that those are DISCOVERY EXCLUSIVE ships,
the FREELANCER ships are Defender, and Valkyrie.

also, Guardian and Wrath (and several other ships with upgraded stats and a different name)
are all the same ship in appearance, because the new ships are too busy being
Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars rip-offs, and Archimedean Dynasty SUBMARINES

(Death Scythe = GATOR SUBMARINE)

I cant find a Screenshot at this time, so further evidence will be postponed until
I can find my copy of Archimedean Dynasty and
play through it to get to the point where you get the Gator, and take screenshots myself.

EDIT: I forgot some of the ships genuinely fit into the Freelancer Universe that arent just stat re-rolled clones, and there are also some ships that I have no clue where they came from, they were possibly modeled by freelancer fans and are original, but they are VERY POORLY TEXTURED, and they ALSO don't fit into the Freelance Universe (Taiidan Bomber, Kiith Somtaww, (stuff like that) etc.)

Look at the Wraith at 0:47, is that a double barrelled gun instead of a CD or does it have 2 separate weapons there?

How any of these old skins and features are still floating around (finished or unfinished) in the freelancer coding? Some of the character models looked better than there release counterparts.

There is an entire bonus DVD filled with original stuff: "DVD contains original unreleased intro in full quality, restored alternate in-game intro, behind-the-scenes documentary, conceptual artwork, promotional trailers and other goodies." . Have a look for a torrent.;)I know it's there.. ()
Edit: I'll have a look and see if I can extract some useful stuff (like the concept arts).
