I don't know much about the Maquis' lore or your relevant rp, but it's a terrorist id dedicated for pvp whores and bhg is the same for the opposite side.
"Dedicated for pvp whores" is simply your interpretation of the possible RP. As leader of his faction, it is Lionel Boucher's choice how to interpret his Maquis role-playing within the parameters of its lore.

It's a very unique faction actually that lends itself to a mix of PvP whores in-house and RP Whores outside of Gallia, and was a very unique ID until recent change we will be requesting to revert to what Maquis always have been when we go official - and let indies do their thing on "can shoot all" ID.
Besides @Karst 's faction that hopefully one day will take off but hasn't yet, 100% Maquis active factions I could find that were posting for a longer time dating back to 2012 had the same interpretation of the faction and reps as we do.
That is
1) Ideological righteous extremist action towards Gallic Royals and Corps that supply them.
2) Anywhere from suspitious (-0.1 bars) to Neutral/Welcoming towards most sirians except KNF and OC. And then sprinkled individual faction to faction relations based on RP
There are no infocards that suggest terrorism or hostility towards any Sirian faction, besides one lax tentative infocard talking about Kusari. The Maquis stance should be even reinforced and softened with last patch as with The Battlegroup Pamiers Maquis got more moderate "military" former council defectors. They are "reverse xenos" in a way that the are anti-domestic lawful factions while open to everyone else unless they piss them off (OC, KNF). This, combined with the isolation of gallia and "clean slate" with Sirians who shouldn't know who Maquis are closely (sadly, even OORP, most people still don't), lends itself to a truly one-of a kind roleplay not seen anywhere in disco. Where you Terrorist PvP whore against Gallic Factions and the couple Sirian ones that wronged you, and open relations that dynamically develop based on RP with everyone else, for better or for worse.
This is our interpetation of the Lore - this has been the interpretation of the lore by all previous signifficantly active factions I could find, and this has been reflected in Maquis ID for 8 years since conception - and we will get back to that (yes I am talking about asking for a big nerf when we go OF) when we will get our own ID.
Obviously @Karst's and @SquigglyKey's interpretations are new, unique and valid. GMs processed the Indie's ID change request and changed the status quo that existed since Maquis conception and since we founded the faction (to my big surprise I might add - it got a huge buff few weeks after gaining cap access, I just didn't see that passing). And although there are no infocards that suggest Maquis would go after Sirians as default and active factions including us have never have done that either, there's also nothing that says they wouldn't. So the ID as is now does suggest it's purely for universal PvP whores, but it's not what it was before in the entirety of the faction's history, and it's definitely not what we signed up for when we made the faction.
And this is why you will see at least me RP first with Sirians we didn't have RP with before. And why the faction is a blend of both PvP and RP whores right now.
EDIT: If we get to official and get our own ID. We'd ask for the nerf that'd go back to what the ID was before, with a unique addition of the 3rd line.
Within Zoi:
- Can attack ships of factions considered hostile by the faction ((which is just 5-6 IDs right now.) )
- Can demand cargo
- Can make roleplay demands (For propaganda and confirming stance towards The Union, and some creative shenanigans)
With the possible addition of a Battleship line if we find sufficient in-Rp justification and build up RP by then.
We have RP with Brigands, but shoot on sight GSB and MNG (same as OC's). We are just able to flex our RP more with those that are not our most bitter enemies. But Gallics have it coming nonetheless. Many Garlic Onion bodies to drop
1) With GNI,GN we've had lengthy RP in-game when they declined to be Royalists or calling is the bad guys wrongly. You just met my transport when I was moving it after solid 8 + hours of stressful work of getting people ships so they give Gallia and Gaians a shot and moving shareds around for an event.
In terms of forum roleplay - the sole purpose why maquis exist is so those guys don't, all you can do is plots, traps and propaganda. And the same is the other side more or less. We have some things planned there
2) Gallic corps
Ask GMS- our encounters are some of the most fun in disco, we try to keep them fresh
Forum RP again will mostly just be propaganda.
3) Gallic unlawfuls
- Only regret is not doing more RP with the Corse faction that popped up before they left promptly. Sadly besides us, the only factions of brigands and maquis that do forum RP are 2 people and we do RP with both of them. Historically Gallia always struggled to have active lasting Maquis/Brigands presence.
Having said that, we should involve Corse more, see if they maybe consider coming back. And we should have been more proactive when they popped up - it just seemed like there was plenty of time as they first contacted lawfuls and were trying to figure out how they will play the faction, getting licences from Union etc. But they were gone soon after.
Faction definition re-written to suit infocard re-writes and new canon based on feedback.
History of The Maquis changed to The Rise of The Front and altered with new infocard information
Added info on Vital Assets including plans for Roussillon
Discord renamed to The Gallic Underworld and now houses Les Salopards and Martinique - Brigands base Maquis, Corse and Junkers are helping with - https://discord.gg/xJEPD47jPE. Icon change pending
Blood Dragons from Allies to To be decided based on Interactions due to infocard change, and clean-slate starting contact with Rose Dragons that can go either way based on how roleplay develops.
Gaian Snubcraft tech share requested based on canon infocards, rep sheet and current joint event + roleplay
It's the first draft of the rewrite- see it here, we are looking for suggestions to improve the page. Credit to @St.Denis for some pointers on one of the parts already.
Plans
Adding writeup on vessels used by The Front, couple more missing bases
Internal structure - ranks in military arm, roles in terrorist arm with equal standing in terms of importance
- part done, need to expand section
OF ID proposal -done
Shades of neutrality from anywhere between -0.55 to +0.55 added to diplomacy table towards Sirian factions we lock those with through interactions
Light fighter "race" bombing event with active defenders
Bomber double bracket tournament with prizes open to many IDs
Various standard sign up events with willing factions
What would you change in, or add to our writeup? How do you think we are doing in-game? What would you like to see to give playing The Maquis a shot? Any and all feedback, positive or negative, is welcome.
Official ID proposal added to Official faction creation request.
After sufficient roleplay for battleship usage and repair is collected we will try to work with admins and propose the ID changes for the entire NPC faction. This will be our priority. Failing that, the indie ID will keep it's cargo and engagement lines on cruisers, and we will request the limited battleship access for the OF should we ever become official.
This Gallic Unlawful ID is used by members of the Front de Libération, who:
- Cannot use ships with more than 4300 cargo space.
Within Zone of Influence (Gallia, systems directly bordering Gallia, Taus)
- Can attack any ship.
- Can demand cargo.
- Can use cruisers only to attack combat ships.
- Can use battleships only to attack combat ships in Gallia, systems bordering Gallia and Roussillon.
Reasoning Canon
The core Maquisards that raid for resources and openly blow up Union collaborating civilians using terrorist plots never had access to, or means of, operating capital vessels of the cruiser class and bigger. Almost the entirety of the cruiser and higher class ships is courtesy of freshly defected Ex-Council military staff and commanders that didn't join The Maquis in the earlier years, and in turn wouldn't be very good at, or used to, "alternative" extremist means like the oldschool core Maquisards are.
The Maquis also possess a fully functioning, albeit old and arguably only hastily repaired and therefore relatively weak Battleship Pamiers. We also plan on trying to get 1-2 more old bustled together old Ex-Council battleships through various roleplay means into our lore, and propose a repair, re-assembly (not production) capable drydock added to Maquis' Roussillon base that can cater to battleships.
These weaker old battleships would make little sense to be used outside of the Gallic Lawful's sphere of influence, and Cruiser and Battlecruiser class would be used if the Maquis Tau bases really needed to be defended. It would be extremely unlikely that e.g. Pamiers would move to Tau-29 or Tau-31 to attack The KNF.
Gameplay
We believe cargo demands and ability to openly attack any transport should be reserved to own transports and the gunboat class and smaller, in line with the original Maquis ID. It gives traders a chance to fight back, forces cooperation. And since monetary demands are not allowed on the ID anyways, capital vessel users will not lose out on much in terms of ability of gaining resources for themselves.
We also will be proposing access to Redemption class battleships after roleplay that started weeks ago concludes, side by side with the above considerable nerf for all capital vessels - main technical reason is regional balance - there is no unlawful faction with access to battleships in core Gallia, except hostile Outcasts in a couple systems. For this and canon reasons, Redemptions would be only allowed to engage combat ships in Gallic Lawful Zoi and the Maquis controlled Roussillon.
This can potentially impact the entire NPC faction, so again any feedback is welcome.
Added structure that should reflect NPC faction as it is in canon now roughly. Each arm has one player lead in high command.
In Practice Military arm would have arguably less people relative to the extremist one than represented but there are events planned like The Champagne Heist that'd force a re-do.

any feedback welcome on this one.
Just a small feedback: you do realise that Euler's circles are used for the demonstration of overlaps, not structure? What you are showing is just a structure of the Maquis, namely their 3 divisions that do not create a new entity by overlapping. For simplicity and clarity I suggest you using a simple list without any Euler's diagrams.

There is overlap, some people will be in 2 or all arms at the same time doing both things because of staff shortages, and almost total lack of liaisons and logistics (Maquis just used Council for those pre-Confed on large scale). The Military arm will also want to train and use more of the non-direct combat trained Maquis over time when needed
I guess we should rename it from structure to... not sure...Structural overlaps to make it clear?
Or is there an issue with using the circles when the overlap doesn't create a new entiry, just shows that some people do both things
