I'm perfectly willing to listen ... but it gets real tiresome reading about how someone somewhere doesn't like being pirated for whatever reason. Pirates are ALWAYS the favorite topic of complaint here in Discovery. And everyone that complains about them come up with ideas on how to shakel them with server rules.
There's a thread here where a trader wants pirates to be restricted from using trade lanes and jump gates.
There's a thread here where a trader wants pirates to demand cargo and not credits.
There's a thread here where a trader wants pirates to be in fighters only.
There's a thread here where a trader wants pirates to be nice.
There's a thread here where a trader wants pirates to be limited to pirating the same vessel just once a day.
And now you want to keep pirates from pirating in house systems.
Bottom line is traders just don't wanna be pirated ... EVER.
I would be happy if they didn't hang out next to police stations and acted like pirates and not terrorists.

Instead of throwing gasoline on fire (by that I mean posting in the public forums) ... take a screenshot of these pirates "hanging out" at the police station and file a server rule violation report. They'll get a sanction or at least a warning to move along and start role playing. But posting here in the forums just draws a trial-by-forum ... and it gets old.
Here's the rule that would apply ... specifically the bold/italicized text ...
Quote:6.2 Out of Roleplay (OORP):
In-game tag seen before the name must match the ID as closely as possible. It is not allowed to have the tag not match ID category. For example, it is prohibited to have 'Police' tag and 'Pirate' ID.
Equipment used must match tag and ID as closely as possible. For example, it is not allowed for Corsairs to use Outcast ships and guns.

Alright, i got it that way, sorry if that wasn't understood correctly.

As you might have noticed, i did never demanded anything, i just wanted to talk about it. As a matter of fact, i enjoy getting pirated most of the time, if the pirate is willing to do some kind of RP (they don't even have to be nice!). Of course pirates (and traders alike) who are answeing in single words or open fire just because the other needs more then 10 seconds to type his sentence out are annoying, but that wasn't my point here.
If the world would be as i liked it, we wouldn't have any rules at all, but be one, happy family cuddeling each other all the time.
I don't want to keep pirates from pirating in House systems, i want them to do it with reason (is this the correct word?) I have no issues with a Bhargest sitting between Westpoint and Norfolk (next to the Badlands, easy to escape) but if he is sitting next to the Shipyard and the BS things are starting to get ridiculous. Thats all i was talking about.
As for the sanction-thing: I am not the kind of guy who is running around taking screenshots and filing random sanction reports. I was shot down three times without warning in the last 2 days and i always managed to talk around a sanction.
Of corse sometimes it is necessary, but i like to talk to people before i beat the crap out of them

Its FAR worse to take things to the public forum like this than it is for you to resolve it with the individual you had problems with ... or taking it to the admins.
I'm glad you're attempting to deal with these people personally ... but the next step when that doesn't work is to file a report ... LAST resort is to take it to a public trial-by-forum.
I can guarantee you its not an epidemic where all pirates are doing this. So why do you feel you've gotta lump me in with these troublemakers?
I do get your point. I really tried to avoid thid trial-by forum thing by not pointing to any situation or players, just to the general situation. I really hoped to get to talk to everyone involved, especially the ones doing so. Maybe they have a good explanation for doing such things and i failed to see them? I am always eager to learn more about the people i am dealing with and to understand them, that was my whole point of this thread.
Maybe make a few people think more about their actions as well, this can never hurt.
What i didn't wanted under any circumstances was throwing anyone into a big pot, write 'fool' on it and put a cab on it and be done with it, no! Just what i said above, i want to talk to people to understand their actions better. To achieve this, i have to use the forum i guess.

trial by forum? I didn't mention any names.
Also , whats good for the goose is good for the gander. The same thing can be done complaining that lawfuls are camping bases and it's ok to do it. The hypocrisy is so thick I think I can cut me a couple of slices and slap some vegimite on it. Care for a sandwich?

I disagree that gubboat can call it self a warship. That means the gunships is a warship too?
It looks like more as support ship then ship that can do something by itself (well anyway, there are people who can make a miricle in a gunboat, but so there are the people who can make a miricle in a LF or transport) In my belief the gunboat is piloted by 5 -8 people, so I dont think that it is so big ship, that anyone can notice it. The cruissers and Battleships are the other thing.
Besdies, about the post mentioned in the start, no-one comes with huge army to stop a few highway bandits in reality. (and yes BS with its crew is a whole army). But anyhow, there is a huge huge HUGE gap between the freelancer and the present world.
