It's possible the new design wasn't released yet. It does say they're spending the next 2 years developing ships in the first sentance, which would indicate that the ship the rumor is refering to isn't even in the game.
Quote:Considering the range of ships Outcasts used in Vanilla, Sabre is the best match. I doubt they would report Stiletto as a new great development. Even if they did, it is definitely one of the BW ships.
Didn't Hessians use Sabres as well, though? Other than the Civilian ship line, the Border World line is used by many factions, and like the Civilian lines, they're developed by multiple different factions. Even if Outcasts did develop the original design, which I don't think is likely, they aren't the sole manufacturers, or users of the Border World ships. They're not as open market as Civilian ships, but they are still there to use by many people.
Quote:The ship distribution can't be attributed to ship origin. No ship is in vanilla is sold in multiple regions with different difficulty levels. Outcast space has different level from all other BW shipline users. Therefore it just can't have the same ships in vanilla.
When there is nothing else to determine the ships origin, then there's nothing else to... yeah. I don't think the sale locations prove who made the ship either, only disprove that Outcasts were responsible.
I say that the entire Borderworlds Line, Falcata and all, are just that: Borderworlds. That means that they are available for use by the Bundschuh, Lane Hackers, Outcasts, and Hessians without question. Freelancers and the like may be able to use said ships, as they are fairly freely available, but I wouldn't expect to see any other organizations using them in such full force.
To clarify on the Bundschuh aspect of it all, yes, we do shoot Outcasts. We shoot Outcasts for just about the same reason as Corsairs. They are a foreign military power bent of galactic domination, something we won't tolerate in Rheinland. In the Sigmas, we don't care, in the Omegas, we don't care, but if they enter Rheinland proper, they will be warned and, if deemed necessary, lethal force will be used to remove them from our homeland. We don't like Corsairs as they have a history of invading Rheinland and are pure pirates. We don't like Outcasts because they are slavers and drug smugglers, as well as pirates, and have recently (Or at least some of them have) betrayed our Hessian brothers. We only grudgingly accepted them in the past because the Hessians were allied with them. As this alliance is no more, there is nothing to make us tolerate them.
Putting it simply, Outcasts and Corsairs are the same to Bundschuh. Foreign powers attempting to take over our homeland. Neither will be tolerated in Rheinland. We don't consider them hostile, but they are exceptionally unfriendly. It doesn't help that we've been under fire from indies of both factions since 4.84 anyway.
Back to the point though, the Falcata is Borderworlds. If you wouldn't be seen flying a Sabre, you better not be seen flying a Falcata. Unlawful freelancers, sure. Unlawful indy pirates, sure. Civilians who spend the majority of their time in the borderworlds (why not be Zoners?), sure. Hell, I'd even allow Zoners. Corsairs, house corporations, house police, military, etc. Most assuredly not.
... where did it ran Wrote:Outcast developed BW serries ship.
And where's the evidence which supports this claim?
Now, now ... he just quoted the infocard in that statement. Less paranoia, please.
Quote:Series ZX "Falcata" Border Worlds Bomber
The Falcata is the latest development of the Outcasts that utilizes the pinnacle of modern ship engineering technologies. Efficient power array combined with enough agility to dodge capital ship fire - and enough hull strength to withstand occasional hits - make this bomber one of the most deadly ships of its class available on the market today.
The situation with the Falcata being a non-exclusive ship free for those who have any contact with the border worlds(Except say Corsairs, for whom it is in RP to fly only their ships because of pride and such) and being developed by Outcasts is the same thing like with the IMG and the Raven's Talon or Charon.
It's not a governed market, and many can get their hands on the ships.
And it says "border worlds bomber" in the Falcata's infocard, which I think is the only thing we need, really.
