None of the corporations should be using jumpholes - ever. For smugglers and pirates, jump hole use is ok, but you're probably going to deal with stuff like this from time to time.
I fly a slave liner, it cannot dodge, and does not have a countermeasure dropper either - yet I can still handle the wilde npc patrols that appear at the sigma 13 jumphole in new berlin, albeit I do lose my shield once or twice and have to burn through some nanos before I either kill them or get away.
Depending on your ship, you need to either fight immediately, or run the first chance you get. Trying to debate between the two will only get you killed, and some ships can only do one or the other. My slave liner cannot run, because of it's size and slow turning - but it has enough turrets to fight them off to some success. Smaller transports with fewer turrets should forget about fighting and just run for it.
I bought an adv train, as my mastodon was limited to craptastic trade routes, and LOLWUTTER pirates who shall not be named. I Have been scouting trade routes, as all of them sux.
As far as Jumphole use, I tend to stay tradelanes only. This isn't a OMFG I CAN'T Power trade rant. It's more of a rant about logic. You don't see Order NPC's spawning in New York, or really anywhere outside of Minor, Alaska, and Delta. I have personally flown my geb right outside of tekagis base in choguko or wherever it is. NO NPC's what so ever. and that's supposedly their home.
I say, GO TO YOUR EFFIN HOme.
The problem I have is why would your home system have 0 npcs, but a system, you have no chance of reconquering, has a ton of them?
Also, Slave liner has more weapons, I have...like 1 rear turret, and 5 forward turrets, and a big long ship with a target painted on every cargo pod...
I think we need to get Transports Buffed, I mean the mod is already stacked against us.
1.Bombers got buffed, their faster fire rate gives us absolutely no chance, whatsoever if its a lolpirate. Don't argue, *cough* Dab, The upholder can sustain continuous fire for 1 minute. The barghest has a larger powerplant, Put it together and no matter how you slice it, 4.0 refire, will rape you.
2.Trade routes got Nerfed. It is dam near impossible to find a decent trade route, that nets a good profit, at a decent time pay off.
3.Every large Transport, with 5k cargo, has crap for weapon mounts, no cm's, and get disrupted by player cd's, or rape npc cd's easily.
4.There are so many LOLPIRATES in disco now, I may as well trade in a capship, so I can rape them...oh wait they all upgraded to cap 8.
Give Us Cm's or better ships. Lower the price on super transports, something....seriously.

NPC's only spawn when the server population is low, below 150 or so. Chances are, when you flew your geb to the arch, the server pop was so high that no npc's were spawning. Every time I've been there, I've seen numerous wilde and dragon patrols.

The wilde were basically born and created in rheinland, from the rheinland military - rheinland is, for all intents and purposes, their home. The fact that their actual 'home system' was put so far away from rheinland is unrelated.
There's nothing wrong with them being in rheinland, and they spawn in other areas as well, not just the vicinity of the sigma 13 jumphole.
Once again, if the route is too dangerous for you - and it certainly is with a train - take the lanes and use frankfurt to get to the sigmas, rather than going through the jumphole in new berlin which you -know- is plagued by wilde npc's.
Either that, or only trade on that route when there's more than 150-160 players online.
Well, look at it this way, they no longer have those nasty battleship powered nomad weapons, although, I'm not sure whether they still have the UAU XXVII (Y'know, the nigh invicibilty to everything but capital ships). And besides, I've never had a problem with em at all.
' Wrote:I think the idea is to make that 'shortcut' as uninviting as possible, afterall, space away from the lanes is supposed to be dangerous. So having WTFPWNZ0Ring NPCs is just making sure that you stick as close to RP as possible (i.e., dying if traveling in far out, mysterious places).
I can only agree. You have nothing to do in their systems.
Carnage itself flying within void... Proud cardihead ever since 2008...
You all gonna eat cardi!
Such strong language arguing even when you're absolutely wrong...
Besides being "home" in a manner of speaking, Rheinland is well within Das Wilde's operating range. You don't see Order NPCs in NY because you don't see the Order in NY (not in large numbers, anyway). There's Red Hessians in Omega-3 because it's within their ZoI, and that's farther from Vogtland than New Berlin is from Rockhome (or at least similarly distanced). There's Outcast NPCs pretty far from Malta, too. And Corsairs all the way in Leeds (if I'm not mistaken). Dun think Leeds is closer to Crete (or any Corsair base for that matter) than New Berlin is to the Wilderness.
Oh, and our home system has NPCs. The dozens of dead battleships can attest to this. Our home system actually has the scariest NPCs outside of Gallia... although Omicron Iota-hell is still a nastier place to be. Oh wait, IIRC there's Wild patrols around Dur-Shurrikun.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we do in fact have NPCs in our home system as well as within our primary operating area.
As for your comments on transports...
Did it ever occur to you that there's supposed to be reasons to get ships that aren't the biggest and baddest? 5ks have the advantage that if uninterrupted you get a lot more money than other people do. They have the disadvantage that if you don't pay pirates you're going to die. Other transports have things like dodging, guns, or armor to compensate for the fact that they don't have a 5k hold. As a result, you see people in transports other than the 5ks. This is called balance.
Oh, and if you're in a transport with guns on it and a bomber kills you solely by shooting you continuously with its guns, chances are you were either fighting an absolute ace who was just messing with you or you really need to learn to aim. Transport guns aren't friendly, and things like the Shire make gunboats (plural) cry.
If you can't find good routes than either you aren't looking hard enough or you have a bad definition of "good".
Lolpirates also tend to congregate. If you can't deal with them, then trade somewhere else. Like, oh, Rheinland. Or Bretonia.
I really hate to say it... but I think the best advice right now is "lrn2play".
The problem I have is why would your home system have 0 npcs, but a system, you have no chance of reconquering, has a ton of them?
Quote:I was by tekagis base, when there were 35 ppl online....no npcs.
If you want to see the Wilde NPCs in their actual home, find Omega 58 ... don't bring any expensive cargo.
Tohoku was just recently changed to Wilde, it may need further changes yet.
Cameron, I think the answer you might receive from anyone with the ability to see the big picture will be similar to this:
"Lolno."
If you really want to know what the Wilde are, but find their status is TL;DR, this is all you need to know:
They're psionic Nazi Zombies.
That would entail their being powerful to the point of fear-inspiring.
Otherwise you'd just shrug off these terrible penumbral horrors of the Omegas with a SHIFT+W and a rofl.
When Wilde appear, you're supposed to be all like "Oh no! These fiendish hybridization of perverse alien tissue and dead human flesh have accosted me! I can not run, the terror, oh the inexpressably horrible terror! Woe am I tonight, for I am surely doomed to destruction and possessification! Woe am I, woe am -" *KABOOM*
