I agree, I didn't like when the admins instituted this whole "minimum activity level" thing, especially when they wont tell anyone exactly what the minimum criteria is.
Aside from that, I dont like the pressure being put on faction players to meet a time requirement when they dont know what it is.
I also don't think there has ever been a requirement for a faction to have a tag.
Well, what's your take on the 'one official faction per ID' thing? Surely activity checks have something to do with it. I think if you want to remove the activity-o-meter, you'll also have to remove the official status restrictions.
Just a thing.. I think, well It would be good, if you have faction and you don't want to have tag.. then instead of one char you have two one with and one without tag.. so If you want to go unnoticed and do what ever you wanted to do.. alone or as group.. log on tagless chars.
If you are about to do something that doesn't require stealth log on taged chars and Admins can monitor activity..
If you already don't have pile of chars from that faction that you can just rename without tag you can make new one and its easy.
It is not easy to create new char when it comes to invite-only faction because we need to find faction leader, admin and get them to rep us, beam us to bases.. and thats is only problem.. all other factions are fine if they want to do these things this way..

I say this as a QCP player, who will be hunted to hell and back whenever I log in. A Bowex player, who will attract pirates from all over Sirius whichever route I take. Formerly a SCRA pilot, who... Well, self explanatory. I'd have benefited from detagging in all three cases, but I wouldn't have (even if I did have the choice).
You attract people around you. That is a nice thing. Not always, but still better than wondering around doing nothing.
Concerning our tag (sails).. as was be done just to be harder to orientate in the chat list. You won't count how much of us are online that easily, nor can keep a track on all sails ships. As a pirate you want to be less noticed sometimes.

Money. These two posts would be it.
One official faction per ID is incessantly stupid.
However, failing activity, and denying someone else a spot to make a faction, or maintaining their "power" with little responsibility.

I must agree. Some factions have very wide rp possibilities. For example corsairs. Entire house (well small one, still house with it's traders, pirates, military, diplomats and such) is representend by 1 npc faction. But it doesn't cover everything.
I believe there is more factions like this, where official factions splits their parts of rp between each other to reflect npc faction the best.

As would the GC and OC... *prepares to be lynched on skype*
Back to the topic: I thought there was a FL hook command that allowed the admins to track the unique ID's.... oh well. There are serious advantages to being untagged and as long as a faction uses skype and keeps an up to date roster there is no reason one shouldn't be allowed to operate tagless. If a faction goes tagless then perhaps another measure of faction activity can be devised. Say Message Dumps, monthly Roll Calls, etc.
