Mollys are dissatisfied miners who were abused by Edmund Graves of BMM a long time ago. The killed him and escaped Graves, and have been fighting to make Dublin an Sovergien state ever since.

On the surface, the RP is similar, but not so much that you couldn't make the group distinct. I beleive its perfectly possible to make a faction like the one you are describing that isn't just another molly group with aussie backstory.

Still, two problems with the revolutionary backstory;

1. What, exactly, do you plan on seceeding with? Perth Station (Only Aussie named station I know of:P)?

2. Yes it is POSSIBLE to make a story that is unique, but follows the lines of "angry people want to leave bretonia." However, expect a lot of "Oh god... Not MORE bloody dissatisfied bretonians try to seceed" when people see you in game, at least until your story gets well known.

See, I wanted to stay lawful rather than go pirate to avoid any association with Mollies, as you say Azrael. Basically it would be a group of Bretonians who wished to secede from Bretonia, but not grab their territory. Possibly they were sick of overcrowding, and sought to move further into uncharted space. They would still try to maintain close ties with the Brtetonian government, but would essentially be colonisers. Think like a Bretonian Zoner group if you will.

Hence why I wanted to move into the Omegas (as immigrant colonists, they aren't going to want to move into territory that is subject to war ie Taus). They would be a bunch of hardy individuals seeking to carve out a bit of space for their own, yet maintaining cordial relations with the Crown.

Since technically Australia isn't in Oceania we unfortunately we con't call it the Oceanic alliance.
So I came up with: The Southern Crusaders

What do you think? I think you may be right Dungbottom I do also like the idea of rough and hardy colonists in the tough area of space. I really think we need to get this going.

Looking it up, and everything I can find says that Australasia is part of Oceania. However if people dont like the name then it can change.

And I am just working on writing up all the lore now. Unfortunately as a relatively new player I wont have a lot of resources to put towards the faction. Thus pretty much everyone will be providing for themselves. However isn't that what the first colonists did?

Oceanic Alliance it is then! I really like the name it was just that I thought Australia wasn't in the oceanic region. About the funds, I'm sure we could come up with something clever, like maybe farming, because I remember something about a food shortage near the omegas I think, I'm sure over time we could easily get credits. Also keep me updated on how the lore is going I really see potential for this.

Never heard anything like that before, is it a rumour on Gran Canaria or something? I cant find anything on the wiki.

Just to note, the Australian connection on Gran Canaria sill lives on. The Bretonian colony on the planet is called Port Jackson, which was the name of the first British colony to be founded in Australia too. The colony is administered by Bowex in the name of Bretonia.
