I'm talking more about individuals. Factions are already doing their best to deliver their roleplay.
Also:
Some players participated in that ongoing roleplay but they just popped in, most of them claiming that Administrator must go down, while not doing anything good for Freeport themselves. Dakun gave activity and yet he gets mocked ooRP. Decide what you want, unused stations or some activity.
Though I am relatively new I know only that a lot of people here personally don't like Dakun. Because of previous things he has done and things he has said.
It seems in this latest situation, Dakun tried to settle things down inRP, but those accusing kept up their search for problems and inflamed the situation far beyond what it really should have. Dakun on the other hand ALSO reacted over the top just as his accusers did.
Overall what I saw was a player trying to actually RP well, but immediately his previous prosecutors (or new ones) found and attacked any flaws they found. Dakun then reverted back to how he used to play.
Now that things are said and done, inRP the character Dakun plays SHOULD have some sort of RP consequence. The way in which the situation happened is over, now there are certain things that must be done.
HERE IS MY SIMPLE QUESTION:
Say Dakun RP's that his character gives himself up. And then RP's a "new" character into the position of Administrator. I wonder then, just how many people will STILL try to antagonize THAT 'new' character? I am fairly sure that we will quickly see MANY people still continue antagonizing and critiquing him in EVERY detail. Even if 'inRP' the 'bad' administrator steps down...
I could be wrong, and granted some of you did RP your dealing properly. Dab is a good example, he was not accusing Dakun at the beginning. It was only till after the events had occurred did he say his piece, enacting on the actions of what Dakun and others had done, regardless of how well RP'd the previous events happened.
He took what he had laid before him and did what should be done inRP. He did not escalate the situations while they were occurring to get to a position of pushing Dakun around, which is what I fear some of the people did, and may continue to do. Lets hope both Dakun can find his 'groove' in Disco, and others will learn to respect him, and perhaps help him when small mistakes are made.
First, my big interest in sticking my big fat foot in this was for the RP value - im always looking for any good way to get involved, and so i offered to speak for Dakun - and boy, what a wild crazy ride...
I had FUN - like crazy. i havent done anything with Dane in a while, and in the space of an hour, im nearly a freeport admin!
As for Dakun - i offered to speak for him because he was kinda digging himself holes with his rp with others - that might be what he was intending, but it was leading to a mess - i was hoping to help in some way.
Quote:I wonder how many players had characters in Freeport 1 for real. As one communication message got quite hefty of company, from BAF to OCV... If they just thought to be part of it, it's not roleplay, it's grieving about situation and seeking ways to participate in. This whole incident is poor.
Snake, you have no idea what are you talking about.

I have to agree with this.
Snake, the only response by BAF to this whole fiasco was in our own thread to several recipients after we had to deal with a plethora of problems in-game in Omega-3, during which Dakun's character (also named Dakun) caused further problems, incited violence, etc, etc.
So excuse me, but you're full of bull.
And if you were referring to the post by Austin Goodman, he is not BAF. He is a Freelancer, who does actually reside on Freeport 1 more than any other station. Murphy has a thing for boring stations I guess. The only information BAF spoke of that was not obtained from our in-game encounter, was Dakun's order for Blood Diamonds, which was broadcast on a public channel to all trading companies and independent traders. Since BowEx is a state-owned trading company, we had access to that channel. The "To Freeport 1" channel we did not have access to, and nothing from that thread was used in my response.
Kthx.
EDIT: There is nothing wrong with people seeking to participate in something. If they break rules in participating, like metagaming rules, that is a problem, but a wish to participate is never a bad thing. Participation breeds activity and roleplay. Freeport 1 can use the activity, Discover can always use more/better roleplay.

In regards to Snak3, I'll just say my ulterior motive detector is going insane. It appears that someone is very worried indeed about losing his multi-million contract with Dakun.:D
I just warned him that buying blood diamonds would make him look like a Hessian supporter, and it's led to all of this? In my eyes the blame should rest on Dakun's stubbornness for not take the advice and his character's (or his, however you want to see it) inability to handle such a situation without taking an overly aggressive stance, feelings of dislike for him from other people who had the ability to become involved, a general overreaction from most people involved, and myself for pointing it out in the bloody first place.
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.
