LFs vs. VHs = fine
LFs vs. Bombers = ligth fighters RUN!!!

In other words, bombers have so much armor that these small things aren't able to inflict enough damage in less time than it takes to manufacture a whole new ship. Especially when they're using combo 2x shieldbusters, 2x something that bites.

I have to disagree. Light Fighters are at their best when fighting bombers. In my BPA days, I kept two OPG bombers shieldless and was raining Tachyon down on one of them without taking a hit. It might take a bit, but Light Fighters are at their prime when fighting Bombers.

Also, 2x Shieldbusters is arguably bad idea. It's far better to have 1x Shieldbuster and 3x Hull Bunsters on a Light Fighter...

I do believe that Light Fighters that aren't bugged are fine as is.

Hmm *considers switching out a Deb for another Vengeance cannon*

I don't know, I like the ability to strip shields off of larger ships, like transports. Sure, the hull damage sucks, but that's what mines are for.

You obiously haven't encounter anyone who zig-zag dodges everything in Taiidan Bomber like b***h. I've been to combat where 2 LFs (me included) and 1 VHF chased this bloody Taiidan Bomber with a support of Bretonian Gunboat. He was zig-zagging all the time, we were only able to hit it from time to time and despite having 3 fighters on his tail, it DID destroy the gunboat and escaped out of our ZOI... C'mon, that's crazy!

And even If I was hitting him all the time (let's say he would be standstill), it takes 25 seconds to bring Taiidan's hull down to zero with 2 hornvipers. Let alone shields and automatic shield recharges. And I hate this "taking down someone's BAR" in MMORPG style. This was so frustrating that I almost F1ed out of the game even tho we had upper 4:1.
In some situations, combat in Freelancer is far from dynamic which it should be, it should.

Heh, there's also my old setup of 4 Debilitators on a light fighter. Perfect as a support ship to heavier fighters, but also handy with mines should you feel the need for glory. Or the need to embarass your enemy.

Yep LFs eat bombers, but as I said 1vs1 it might take ages. And the LF has to be on hit toes all the time.

2vs1 the bomber has no chance.

You know some factions don't have as great guns as bretonians. If you have only 8.33 you don't deal enough shield damage in the right moment 1vs1.
Even worse some factions have guns that combined with Debs don't hit anything (600 m/s speed).

In Dublin once, I stumbled across a {SOB} Facalta in my Decurion. After a long fight I bugged out, but I did manage to get his hull down to about 55% at one point. Not really winning, but meh, I was proud.

Decurion could do with a boost.

Decurion is the biggest pile of junk in all adv LF category. its turn like Titan... Airwing it the next corasir LF. Bet i prefer to fly something that looks like corasir one.

I've taken out a Sabre in an Arrow before. Using L8 Chainguns.

I abused CDs like nobody's business, preventing him from EK and detonating his mines all around him.

The Sabre is a big target from behind.
