The agility nerf was somewhat overdone. In my eyes, the Eagle should retain its number one spot as most agile fighter. Its responsiveness could've been dropped a fair bit to make it more difficult to use well, I suppose.
I'm not fond of the way the nerf was done. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but something like an Eagle really doesn't gain much from a slightly bigger core and hull while it still has that colossal hitbox.
Eagle was OP in .86 - it was faster then most HFs and with light VHF stats. even now after nerf its fastest VHF ingame and can outturn many opponents if you know how to fly. eagle with flashponts/debs always was on top in 1v1 vs something slower.
Dont like low armor/core? This what you get when making agility as priority over other stats.
Dont like turret not firing forward? 7 gun fast VHF is quite OP if you ask me. just remember .85 sabres.
And what is that 'huge hitbox' stuff? Its huge only on wings. and wings are kind of paper sized on front. dont allow enemy to shoot at you from the top and hitbox will be just fine.
Won't lie i was with the best of them complaining the eagle was op but i will say this i had a Xeno Eagle it was nice till the update so, intead of crying "devs fix it pls!!" Ill sugest this
drop the hull below what its old stats were and then return its old turning. I see the Eagle as a ship that favors dodging then tanking make it like a vhf crow crow has ungodly speed for a hf but its core/armor its like a heavier lf
JayDee, look at the numbers.
It's not the fastest VHF anymore, not even close.
It's just the people who fly it - they know it has no chances in frontal attack, so they keep flanking you.
Learn to early turn and dodge finally. Fighting fast ships is possible even guns only.
To those who say "eagle is for dodging" - you're wrong.
It's fast but easy to hit. Sliding and early turns aren't exactly "dodging".
AFAIK Eagle always was a bit weaker in group fights.
In general, balancing approach for the ships of the same class is following: the harder to hit - the slower.

For one on one fights (freelancers, mercinaries, bounty hunters) the ship was overpowered. VHF with turn speed faster than most HF's and even some of ligh fighters? And you say it's okey? Moreover it's generic civilian stuff, which in many cases can outpreform house/faction specific ships.
Nah it has to be nerfed, it was broken back from vanilla.

Why make them all slower because you have bad reaction times? Speed is a fundamental PvP mechanic which determines good players from the noobs not so good ones.
