Game is rly good mod is rly good but then u have ego maniacs and so called "vets" majority of them only like to interact with each other and ignore "noobs"..Which is sad at its current state discovery players should try to get the new players the hype ...also recruit ID needs a solid rework to be usefull...
It is sad to see one of ApS HC, a Friend and a vet leave this way. You have good points and many have left due to them.
I for one almost left myself in January just after my return due to some of these points. But I majorly stuck with friends and focused on my RP and the aspects of the game that was fun. With a mindset change I managed to avoid Drama and upsets and it's mostly created by Vets. But there are some amazing people here and that includes the majority of the vets, not all of them are the same and many still after years of playing still try their best to include new players and factions regardless of their experience or years in Disco.
Some things can be avoided as what happened to Apostatas. @Mephistoles Could maybe not have intended for our base to die in S17 but I was out of town for a week and when I got back our base was dead. This was mainly due to no reply from him. We were upset and it has caused a MAJOR dive in our activity as a lot of our in game activity is limited until the "Trial" RP is done...Which has led to me wanting to lose my head due to the trial RP being dragged out for months now. Still I remain quiet and I do not lose my head. Patience wins at the end of the day, as I learned early in the year that when things get rushed or pushed the vets tend to act badly. But all things said and done not everyone responds the same and not all has the patience to deal with these things.
Will things ever change? I doubt that...But Disco has survived with this type of mentality for years. My advice would be to stick with your friends and factions that you enjoy, avoid ooRP drama and ignore raging members of the community.

It's made solely for the purposes of making it clear that you're in an OORP setting-up-a-ship phase. I'm not sure what more it needs for its intended purpose.
I personally and my SCEC buddies enjoyed RP'ing with your Coalition Vladislav Vaska character and to read your RP stories. We learned a few things from you for what I will be ever grateful.
I also would commend you on writing this post - the "vets" in question need to read it. If this attitude continues, those will be the only people left playing to their own regret since "ego" can not be satisfied if there are no new blood to show your "experience" to. Altho, there are also a lot of good vets who lend a hand to a newbie by advice, cash and really nice attitude.
At any rate, good luck with whatever endeavor you pursue from now on! And if you ever decide to come back, SCEC will definitely welcome you.
P.S. if you invite a friend, please, let him start outside of Liberty. It is the place of demise.
I am a new player but i understand any word you wrote in your Post, i wanted to quote a part and comment to it but it would cut out the rest of true words.
In my short amount of time on the server i have seen even newer player than me evolve quickly into the by you described direction. People adapt to their environment. I, as a nwebie, gave more ingame tips by private //message to other player to enhance fair roleplay than i received by vets... that is so strange...
My days feel like counted too. I am thinking i want to go back to no rp, like in the first days, or evading rp. To enjoy the disco server with his great setup and freedom... but this would make me to a player you mentioned as muted, listchecking, evading rp guy... as i know who i would have to evade now... not the best for the server, but still far from the worst.
So i will let me shoot down from vets who have loads of fun playing "their rp" calling me worthless if i call caps for helping me, and this will make me leave soon i guess.
//edit: I am sorry, there are a couple of veteran players who are really nice... i guess i had bad luck recently...
It's very sad to see you leaving, you are an very good roleplayer and I enjoyed my time in TPM. The traders which I encountered were most of the time quite nice roleplayers too, but it seems you weren't as lucky as I was.
I hope you will come back one day, to an better discovery.
