It seems to be that a bit too many people just can not appreciate the work and that we're finally getting transparency about the patch progress. You are doing great and I'm hyped to no end about some changes coming, keep at it and remember it's best to release a somewhat stable and playable build rather than a dry and bugged update the amount of things wrong with it killing all the good impression.
Looking forward to the release, hopefully actually happening this time.

That's the issue, though. The community can appreciate all that the devs do until the cows come home, and the devs can leak patch details until their heart's content, but the only part of the process that isn't being transparent is quite frankly the one that matters the most.
If there are unforeseen problems, and you expect delays to come as a result, then let people know, either here or on discord. We have dev-lounge for a reason.
I'm looking forward to the update as much as everyone else, but god damn is this lack of communication suffocating.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, some people definitely knew about it and I've seen talks about it in multiple discords with no overlapping playerbase, so the reasons were pretty much public at this point. Though a small announcement in that regard would've help to sweeten the deal.
There is no malice on our part in delaying the patch release, only the expected and unexpected complications of releasing a patch of this magnitude.
No one wants to release a patch more than the Team. Some of us have burned out one or more times during development.
Thanks again for your patience.
You've gotta admit though, dropping the patch anyways just to watch the chaos would have been funny. Good memes spawned from older patch's botched releases
