Hello, hello.
I will be blunt. I expected far less entertainment in this job but Bretonia proved me wrong today.
A Freelancer who managed to steal a Gaul Lynx and got away with it? Sign me up, that's my kind of guy. Poor soul almost got his ass burnt by a few Mollys on his way to New London. Since I saw nothing wrong with it, I let him slip away. I suppose the ship ends up on the grey market, perhaps we should acquire it for target practice? I suspect Sergeant Top might never have enough of shooting at Gallic vessels.
On the other hand, there were also less amusing matters. I assisted with the interception of an entire Corsair logistical division by the looks of it. A handful of Frigates and Transports delivered to the gun following a showcase that Hispanics can rival the average Rogue when it comes to class and taste. If they were not so arrogant on top of this, it would be almost sad. May I suggest we take off the gloves sooner next time? Might not give them a chance to slip away again.
Now after we cleaned up those Corsair scoundrels, everyone left for New London orbit to celebrate a bit. I caught a ping coming from Leeds instead and hauled over there, found that Miner girl seemingly upset with every single one of us. Surprisingly, she can be quite nice if she wants to. However, the conversation was cut short when a Gaul tried to sneak past.
In hindsight, I am convinced they wanted to be seen lingering close to the Memorial. No Captain working for an intelligence agency would be stupid enough to get caught off guard twice like this. Anyway, we had a decent chat. As decent as it gets with a Gaul. Turns out that particular one liked to discuss the Hispanics and their traits way too much not to be awfully suspicious. Maybe chip that info over to the BIS, anyone?
Long story kept short, Sergeant got wind of me having caught something and hurried over. The Gaul vessel stood no chance. For reasons unknown, the Captain had captive Gauls aboard. Some of them survived and were taken into custody by the Sergeant. A few were shipped to Sprague, it seems. As a final note, have a small collection of todays occurrences down in the attachments.
If the days keep going like this, I may even start liking this job.

During a routine patrol of the tradelanes in New London, I intercepted a distress signal originating from constable Appletree, who was involved in a prisoner exchange operation with the individual named Mcascott in the nearby system of Nottingham (Omega-3).
Upon arrival in Omega-3, we encountered a hostile cruiser operating under the IFF designation Order, with the name Unto.Nightfall|S8. The cruiser displayed aggressive behaviour, and it appeared to assume a position of authority, as if attempting to command the local constabulary. This behaviour understandably caused some distress to constable Appletree.
Despite Appletree’s concerns, I judged this situation to be an ideal opportunity for a covert stakeout. As I was piloting a Hawfinch fighter, which attracts minimal attention, I decided to remain hidden. I positioned myself behind the nearby jumpgate, using surrounding rock formations for cover, while staying within communication range of the cruiser.
During this time, I observed the cruiser engaging in a conversation with Mcascott and a third individual, flying under the pseudonym Not.A.Brick in what appeared to be a transport vessel. Unfortunately, the cruiser’s superior scanners soon detected my presence. In an unexpected turn, the cruiser launched a salvo towards the jumpgate, narrowly missing my position.
The hostile vessel then proceeded to search the area around the jumpgate. Thanks to my extensive stakeout training by watching various films, I managed to avoid detection, but my cover was compromised when Constable Appletree made a premature jump back into the system. The cruiser immediately opened fire on both Appletree and myself, forcing us to retreat via the jumpgate to Cambridge.
Upon reflection, I strongly suspect that Mcascott may be involved in a criminal organisation, possibly participating in an illegal smuggling ring. The secrecy of the meeting, combined with the cruiser’s aggressive actions to protect the exchange, points to a potential covert operation. The effort to conduct the meeting in a nebula, along with the cruiser’s hostile response, further supports this theory.
I immediately called for reinforcements, and the HMS-Adjudicator responded to assist, with HMS-Nylon on standby in the neighbouring system. Constable Appletree, displaying commendable initiative, managed to locate an alternative jumphole, effectively providing us with a backdoor route into Omega-3. This allowed me to continue monitoring the situation.
While the HMS-Adjudicator conducted a sweep of the system, searching for the hostile cruiser, I was able to resume my stakeout. During this time, I intercepted further communications from the cruiser’s captain, who was identified as Belmont. Despite my attempts at verbal de-escalation, the cruiser fired upon me once more. I issued a final warning, advising the captain that his actions were creating an unsafe environment for both myself and Sergeant Appletree.
In a moment of high tension, I may have mistakenly suggested I would overlook the incident, but this was made in the heat of the moment, and I stand by my commitment to maintaining order. The cruiser then disappeared from radar, possibly utilising a cloaking device.
Meanwhile, Mcascott and the captain of Not.A.Brick engaged in an unclear conversation that seemed deliberately confusing, involving references to "tentacles" and "alien artefacts." This is likely a deliberate tactic to throw off my investigation, possibly involving red herrings to mislead further inquiry.
Based on the circumstances and the individuals involved, I believe there is a strong possibility that Mcascott and her associates are engaged in arms smuggling or trafficking of other contraband. Further investigation is required to confirm these suspicions.
Given that the Unto.Nightfall|S8 has demonstrated a clear intent to engage constables by firing upon them without provocation, I would strongly recommend that we consider implementing extreme measures in order to apprehend the captain and crew. These actions should be carefully planned to ensure that the operation is carried out swiftly and decisively, while prioritising the safety and well-being of constabulary personnel. It is imperative that any response is calculated and minimises the risk of further hostile engagement, allowing us to secure the target without unnecessary danger to constables.
Yours sincerely

Well, it seems that what happened yesterday deserves a report, or so the inspector has told me... so here it goes.
It all started as a normal day on patrol, a bit of "tea" and watching the usual shootings over NL when my scanners detected a Corsair TBH named... Pavo? I thought that was an animal... he was talking quietly with a junkman, when I approached to ask, I was informed that there was no problem and I decided not to intervene, we don't judge people by their IFF or place of birth... Right?
Shortly after, when I was preparing to travel to Leeds for a possible contact, I found the self-proclaimed "Pavo" pirating two civilian transports, even opening fire on them. I intervened and managed to make him flee, saving those two. When I scanned them, I saw that they were carrying Dauman weapons, but I let them go with a verbal warning and with the promise that next time they would have the papers for those harmless weapons.
After a while, I received a message from our #1 fan, Maya, that she had 44 corsairs pilots in custody, so I headed to Omega 3 to receive them.
When I arrived, I found a good scene, Maya talking calmly with a freelancer called "Not.A.Brick" and the captain of an Order cruiser from Section 8.
Section 8... I don't know much about them, but the people say horrible things, that they experiment on people, mutilate them and reassemble them.
I think they call that an "Igor", those people are really scary, so I received the prisoners and headed to Sprage to put them in the custody of the CDI HQ.
As she had 44 corsairs in a single-man fighter? Well, I'll tell you now... We have 21 cases of acute tortuculis and 11 of lumbago... which seems to be chronic in 3 of the cases.
Seeing the state they were in, I decided to give them some tea during the trip that... I borrowed from the office.
Apart from those who suffer from contractures, we now also have 17 cases of stomach poisoning, 6 of them with explosive diarrhea, you can't imagine how they have left the cells of the Grouse...
And now we come to the part of the pure police investigation... that part you can read in the report of my colleague Bob Pickering.

Pat here. Finally sober after a while, so here's my first patrol.
Heard about some civilian vessel, callsign EBMer, not responding to orders from other Initiative officers to halt. Some transient, I believe, but I let him pass with a warning to boot. Seems that one had a bad radio array, or probably doesn't understand our speech.
Then, the other fellows gave me a welcoming orientation. I read the rulebook, which are things to do and not do and whatnot, and the discussion afterwards was about the type of food they have on their meals. I only had the typical 5 pence porridge, nothing tasty to look at. But hey, I'm not hungry!
After sipping some good old tea, I did a routine patrol in New London and Leeds. Nothing eventful so far, except for a passing Iridium hauler named Slainte-Mhath. Fortunately, it had no intentions to trespass Dublin. Afterwards, there was some good 'ol chap, Jock Stewart, flying under a subdivision of BMM known as BMF. After a quick inspection, he came out clean, and I set him off to his destination, Isle of Skye.
One of our officers, Jacky, was on dispatch responding to a Junker Pilgrim liner named Scrappertron. Surprisingly, that one came out clean, and was headed for Cambridge.
Some chitchat followed, and they talked about my career here. Hopefully, the talk and pay's worth it aboard my ship, now called the Bath. This thing's a real kicker for any violator wanting to try the law.
Pat out.

I did not sign up for fleet battle nonsense! What were so many Outcast warships doing in London? Lord, can we please get better border control in Leeds? Several BAF capital ships responded to repel the attack, along with a large wing of Galway and CDI ships. We were able to mop up a lot of their smaller craft, but the BAF warships with us were heavily damaged and looked like they may be total write offs. We're single-handedly funding ALG at this point. Thankfully I still have some wine left over from the crates I got the other day.
Er.
On a side note, I met a very troublesome woman by the name of Rebecca Harper. She accosted me for minutes on end and was overall a massive nuisance, and I fear that Hopper in HR may get a complaint from her in regards to me before long. I don't know. Also, I am aware of the communication with Maya in regards to Omega-7, I am working on how to deal with that. I am going to go open one of these wines and take a bath, the water is back working again at my flat. Thank God.
I'm writing to tell you that... I would like to take a few days off, if possible... because... you see... ... ... my dearest great-gradmom has just... passed away... and of course, I have to water her favorite cactus. What kind of great-grandson would I be if I left that magnificent and special cactus unwatered?

Well today has been productive so far, I can comfortably say that much. I had uh, admittedly started my shift by signing out my ship for non-CDI duties. I know it is against policy, but, I had the need to go to the memorials today. I don't want to get into it. Point is, I spent a fair bit of time in Leeds before signing into PLOPS proper and beginning my official shift. Honestly traffic was very light for most of the morning, but then everything started to happen very quickly.
A pair of very large cargo transports were making their way through London and had routed to pass through the gate to the Leeds system. The first through was the IMG|Lost.Star, a very large guild ship transporting alcohol. I inquired about their cargo and destination, and they informed me that they were planning on taking their delivery into Tau 44. The guild must have some bases out there. I didn't have any reason to hold the ship, and I let them move along. Second visitor was a bit more interesting, a Rheinland Military ship, the [RM]HM-Max.Loof. She's a heavy Bristol ship under the command of Kapitanleutnant Hogarth. Her cargo was a lot of Daumann weapons bound for Gateshead in Newcastle. Is the Rheinland Military cleared to transport DHC weapons through Bretonia? It looked like a 2.1 violation, they weren't on the exemption list, but they said a treaty cleared them (cited: 829 Omega Security Agreement). Can we look into this? Regardless, guess our boys over there got a new shipment in. I recommend we send some guys over and make sure our department actually gets some brand new kit before the BAF pilfer it all from our warehouse. I uh, am pretty okay with my Detroit-S12. I've been taking good care of my service pistol, I swear.
Anyways, the Max Loof picked up some old surplus BAF equipment for Rheinland, and I escorted them out to the Omega-3 gate. By the time the Rheinlanders had gotten to the gate, the commander of the Lost Star had returned to Leeds in a shuttlecraft, and she was interested to talk about some local history. While I know the IMG has been trouble in the past, I figured I would oblige her and meet her at Leeds. Along the way I encountered a freelance scavenger with a ship marked as N3m3n. Guy was a fresh pilot, likely out of Trafalgar, out there picking the wrecks clean. He must have scooped up some Cardamine from a dead Outcast, I explained the issue to him and he willingly spaced the contraband for destruction. Guy was just a bit dense but otherwise seemed okay. Me and Anna Henderson got to talking some about the war and such, and I am pleased to say that she is absolutely not a dick. A nice surprise considering out track record with that insane Maya.
Unfortunately that rather rude woman, Rebecca Harper, appeared again, and briefly antagonized us both before I de-escalated and left the scene. I didn't see much sense in hassling another person in mourning.
Also, a Zoner smuggler by the name of Birma was pulled over with a load of illegally obtained gold. The man was rather kind and made a very generous donation to the widows and orphans fund and promised to behave himself better next time he was in Bretonia.
And lastly, I have secured a small, refurbished ship from an old contact on Trafalgar that I plan on using in that... Bretonian-Anti-Defamatory-Community-Outreach-Programme we set up. I will likely have it ready to fly sometime early next week and head out to Omega-3 to meet up with the IMG representatives there. Not sure what we are going to do about Maya shadowing an officer. I tried to throw Appletree to the hounds on this one but he's out right now as per his last message.
I am providing an update on the HMPS Tayloe's recent operations.
In addition to servicing transfers to BPA Parkhurst, we have begun to relieve overcrowding across the broader BPA estate by deporting foreign criminals back to their House of origin. These activities are currently being undertaken on an ad hoc basis, relying on reciprocal treaty arrangements.
Despite this, the convoys exist in a legal limbo due to restrictions on the activities of Bretonian Police abroad. Due to this, we are only able to proceed with the consent and supervision of a local law enforcement official. So far, we have conducted two such operations - one in Rheinland and the other Liberty.
17.11.824 - Rheinland
After taking on crew and loading on deportees, a security detail consisting of special constables Montgomery, Pendragon and Pickering assembled. We were met at Elbe Border Fortress by Kapitan zur See Karl Holzner aboard the [RM]KKS-Helle.Wolke and his wingman [RM]Obl-Jurgen.Schmidt. The transit through Rheinland was uneventful, passing by Essen Station in New Berlin, to avoid the potential for an incident at the Brandenburg-Wildau junction.
After making good progress, we arrived at Sigma-15 and offloaded our deportees at Mecklenburg Prison. It seems they will be put to work in the penal work colony of Hammersee, which appears to be a thoroughly unpleasant place. A full load of Aluminium from the Hammersee mines was loaded for the return trip, which was due for delivery to the industrial districts of Planet New London.
While departing from Hammersee orbit, we were approached by the Vernunft, a Valkyrie patrol ship we could not identify. Our escorts reassured us it was in the service of the MND; trading on reputation alone, finding ourselves under the MND's scrutiny was disquieting. Fortunately, there were no notable incidents between Sigma-15 and our return to Bretonian territory.
Upon convoy arrival, a foreign service stipend was paid to all attending constables. Each acquitted themselves well, and reflected positively on the CDI's public image.
19.11.824 - Liberty
A security detail was assembled in New London orbit, consisting of sergeant Appletree, and constables Arai, Beurling, Montgomery, Phearson, and the Community Outreach Program... "Intern" McAscott. A full brig of deportees were then transported to Curacao orbit, where we were to meet an escort wing of the 46th and [LN]. Upon arriving, we discovered an evolving situation involving an attempted ransom attack by a squadron of Liberty Rogues.
The escort wing was dispatched to deal with this threat, while the convoy proceeded under the supervision of Admiral Boehm aboard the [LN]-LNS-Constellation. At the Constellation's direction, we were guided through California and New York, into Texas. In Houston orbit, the remainder of the Liberty Navy detail caught up, including Admiral Alan Jones. The Tayloe moored with the LPI Huntsville and offloaded the deportees. Initial Foreign Office orders to head to Pennsylvania to extract Bretonian nationals were then belayed, in favour of returning a community of Bretonian expats on Houston.
The return was thankfully quiet, routing through Magellan to avoid the risk of a repeated security incident in Cortez. Upon reaching the Manchester Jump Gate, the Liberty detailed peeled off and returned to their duties. Instead, the escort was supplemented by Inspector Mayfield aboard the HMC Black Maria, and constable Pickering who had been carrying out domestic patrol duties in New London. The convoy proceeded at best speed to Planet Sprague, where the settlers were shuttled to the BMM Colonial Board to be assigned lodgings and employment.
Again, I am pleased with the manner in which our constables comported themselves, with their actions reflecting well upon both Bretonia and the CDI with senior Liberty officers. Foreign service stipends were paid out to all members of the escort duty.
These convoys have so far been a great success, and have also served as minor diplomatic initiatives with neighbouring Houses. The ad hoc nature of consent to conduct these exercises is an impediment to significantly addressing Bretonia's chronic prison overcrowding issues. Should we continue to build upon the goodwill generated by these exercises with foreign partners, it may serve as a diplomatic springboard for securing permanent legal exemptions to operate unsupervised in the future.

I am concerned I may have overstepped my bounds the other day, sirs. I would like to formally apologize if that is the case.
At the start of my patrol the other day, I was contacted by a Captain Brandt, commander of theZCS-Copenhagen, a large Zoner capital class science vessel. She reached out to me in regards to securing safe passage to the Leeds memorials for her and her ship's crew. Typically it'd be procedure to turn such a ship away, and I was about to, but apparently Captain Brandt and many of her crew were actually from Leeds... and she made what I'd describe as a very very generous donation to the CDI Widows and Orphans Fund. I admittedly had trouble saying no after she made her case, and I took her through Bretonia under careful watch.
Upon arriving in New London, we made contact with an MFE ship, the [MFE]~Penicillin, under the command of a woman named Isa. She was passing through and out to the Omegas, but requested to join our trip to the memorials. I obliged and Captain Brandt welcomed her. We had a very quiet trip through New London, and we all briefly stopped over Leeds for the Zoners to conduct their traditional memorial services and make several speaches.

[19.11.2024 03:05:20] ZCS-Copenhagen: We have a long sail before we come into port for the evening yet. Safe sailing to you.
[19.11.2024 03:05:34] CDI)SC-Jacky.Montgomery: Good luck, Captain.
I escorted the vessels to the Tau-31 jumpgate not long after, where the two apparently routed to the Baffin system. Ultimately the two behaved themselves very respectfully, and Isa later returned and gifted me a small bit of jewlery, some kind of Zoner trinket from the Baffin system. I uh... would like to formally apologize if I overstepped my bounds for allowing a Zoner capital ship through Bretonian space, I made a judgement call at the time and stand by it. If necessary I will submit myself for inquiry.

Good morning
This update is to provide news of the passing of a number of colleagues, and resulting personnel changes.
Sergeant Ibram Mason was killed in a drive-by shooting near his quarters on Sprague. Molly radicals are suspected to be responsible; the planetary terrorism alert level has been raised from SEVERE to CRITICAL as further attacks are believed to be imminent. The latest BIS bulletin indicates that the local Mollys are entering a period of high activity, although their intended purpose is currently unknown.
Sergeant Jodie Flynn was killed in a Molly ambush in Cambridge's Keswick Field, near the Omega-3 Jump Gate. This appears to have been a targeted attack; intelligence intercepts have advised that the Mollys were notified of Sergeant Flynn's location shortly before she jumped to Cambridge by a freelancer flagged as Reduced.Agency. This individual is wanted for questioning as a matter of urgency, and likely does not know that we are aware of their murderous duplicity.
Sergeant Edward Butcher was killed by Gaians in Leeds, in the West Leeds Smog Cloud. The exact circumstances are currently unclear, however all militia constables are strongly advised to avoid chasing suspects into such hazardous areas. The low sensor effectiveness and reduced visibility of the Leeds Smog Clouds makes these locations an extreme risk for ambushes - a fact pirates and terrorists will happily exploit.
We have been ordered to intensify our efforts to suppress Molly activity. CDI foot militia will likely be called upon to support BPA firearms teams in carrying out raids across Sprague, and our orbital forces are required to focus on Molly suppression in both Cambridge and Omega-3. A reward stipend has been agreed for all militia pilots successfully arresting or killing Molly combatants.
Please refamiliarize yourself with standard safety protocols to mitigate risk. To reiterate: do not commute to Stanbrook Hall in uniform, change at the provided facilities. Do not commute using the same route multiple days in a row. Do not share information about your employment with the Militia with other citizens.
We have lost many good constables over recent days, and facing this loss we can either falter, or redouble our efforts. I do not falter. Neither does the CDI - regardless of the losses we endure to maintain order and the rule of law. We will obtain justice for Sergeants Butcher, Flynn and Mason. Details regarding funeral arrangements will be circulated shortly; Harold Hopper in HR is collecting for a bereavement fund for their next of kin.
Emergency funding has been released to fast-track sergeant training to replace our fallen. Regrettably, we do not currently have the budget to fill these gaps like-for-like. Special Constable Jacky Montgomery and Special Constable Bob Pickering are to receive a probationary rank of Special Sergeant. Please report to Inspector O'Sullivan for briefing and assignment.
Due to a shortage of sergeants, all sergeants will be working extended shifts to ensure wing responsibilities are covered on an interim basis. Further updates on working arrangements will be provided shortly.
