In RP it is meant to be the ultimate, one Juggernaut in Theta is meant to scare off the entire Corsair nation from striking against FP9. You want to make that into a colony ship? (The Corsairs are guaranteed to attack it for food then.)
Edit: Not to mention Zoners already have another solely colony ship.
The Corsairs don't need Zoners for food any more. They have biodomes of their own. If Freeport 9 was to be attacked by Corsairs it would be for one of two reasons:
1) The Zoners continue to allow Hunters to dock there and continue to oppose Corsair expansion into Theta.
2) If relations elsewhere in Sirius (see Omega 49) get dicey, FP9 would be the one that bites the dust as an example.
Of course, the Corsairs may just scrag it because they want to set up a secondary industry in Freeport 9 memorabilia toothpicks created from the wreckage. We're unpredicatable like that.
I'm sorry, Jammi, but it saddens me to see this threaten to become yet another discussion on the same old hard-coded issues, rather than a reasonable proposal about our Juggys.
Got too many t-shirts from this "Love Fest" already.
If the "Gods" decide that you boys actually don't need our shipments, (which don't pay squat, as has also been pointed out countless times..), and also decide that the bounty boys now have sufficient bases of their own to merit getting them the hell off our Freeports, thereby reducing the whinge level, then we'll all be happy as bearded clams.
Until then, can we stick to the Juggy discussion, please?

I understand were you're coming from and I even sympathize with some of your rebuttals. But my reasons for getting rid of the Juggernaut is in fact to promote roleplay.
Let's examine another angle: Take a look at the Battleship registration laws. Almost every faction has some sort of a restriction except for, you got it, the Zoners. The Zoners have no restriction to BS limits or registration and because they generally answer to no one, this no restriction law makes sense. The Zoners are mostly isolated, nomadic kind of people and in accordance to this, players should role play as such. But the availability of the Juggy mixed with a complete lack of restrictions on owning one makes way for some amazing cap-whoring.
Zoners do not make a nation and so how can they have such firepower? But look, they already have a nice Destroyer and a Carrier. The Aquallion is already a super powerful ship and requires about 2-3 bombers to take it down. Isn't that good enough? By comparison, the neutral faction "Sweden" does not even have a single Destroyer or a Carrier, and it's an entire nation. And I'm willing to cast away disbelief to that extent (I know it's a spaceship video game), but when you add the Dreadnought into the mix that just takes it too far.
i m afraid to say it - but why do you think you should complain about a faction for not installing a restriction? - is it jealousy that your chosen faction has a restriction? - or do you have a juggernaut and are annoyed that many others also have one - making yours less special?
the zoners as a faction are surprisingly tightly oranized - as one of the very FEW factions that allow every member of the NPC faction ( not only members of the playerfaction ) to activly participate and activly make global decisions in a really democratic system - zoners enjoy a lot of freedom, which comes with a lot of responsibilities. ( this responsibility is watched over closely by the major zoner players )
i do not know if you regularly read the zoner council - but the zoners are anything but a bunch of unorganized cap-spammers that drive their big ships around sirius disturbing the RP enviroment of others.
fact is - what goes "too far" and what goes not too far is everyones personal decision. - if a player wants to RP in a zoner juggernaut - thats his business and HIS business alone. - not a single person has the right to tell that player what to do and how to RP it as long as its RPed within our so called "canon" RP.
and the canon RP for the zoners isn t just something like "sure you can buy any ship you like - have fun".
asking to nerf others in their freedom of RP is always bad. you can restrict yourself as much as you like - but you shouldn t ask others to do the same if they don t need to. - you can ask them to understand your situation, but even then, it is entirely up to them how to deal with it.
in short - the zoner juggernaut stays where it is. if its changed in any way - it will be the major zoner factions and players that will decide about another rule. - and those that are responsible for the ship in the dev team.
I am an active member of the CoZ and constantly roleplay as a Zoner.

Oh but of course. I have no voice in the matter. What a fool was I to think that my suggestion could make a difference.
Suggestions?
I've suggested a Silicon-Based Race that flies Planetoids and Asteroids and feeds on Nomads, absorbing their ships and equipment like a nudibranch absorbs jellyfish poison.
Just because I suggest something doesn't mean it should be greeted with huzzahs and hoorahs and guarantee that it will be implemented and make a difference.
Maybe, if the suggestion is realistic and well thought out (as mine certainly wasn't) and will make a difference, it will be implemented after discussion by players. But unrealistic suggestions? They won't be.
Sorry, but no again. I have a strange feeling this is just another attempt to make Zoners easier to victimize.
The Jugg is already a colony ship; it would be stupid for the Zoners to not defend them with the greatest firepower possible, especially in the Nomad Worlds.
