I was not thinking about to destroy a Faction. I just thought about to make it better for everyone.
Those things could happen if the Blanket Bounty is removed:
- Bounty Hunters start searching for 'real' Bounties, develop the Forum Roleplay with their Bounty Hunter. Maybe become famous if they are really succesful. They can earn more money by concentrating on better paid Bounties. Less PVP because the Bounty Hunter concentrates on his daily Goals. No more Red = Enemy = Dead on sight, they think, search, think and destroy. Not search and destroy anymore.
- Pirates can roam freely, dont need to be scared everytime seeing a Bounty Hunter without having a Bounty on their heads. Myself for example, I am always beeing engaged at sight. Without even having a Bounty on my head.
-> Possible increase of new Bounties.
The Bounty Hunters Guild is from Houston, the most of them even were Pirates by themself. I dont see a point how they would just kill their old possible friends without any feeling. As well I dont see a point for the "Cannot ally with any unlawfuls", that could mean that BHGs cant make Bounties for the unlawfuls. Yet there are Bounties against lawfuls.

Thats a pretty stupid Arguement you brought up there. Tell me why a Pirate should announce his act of Piracy.
The Bounty on the other side needs to be public, that a Bounty Hunter can see the Bounty.

When your in the BHG you are in it with your life and no looks back on his history. And yet pirates should be afraid of BHG pilots since they are poeple who follow the law. And says all almost all pirate attitude to BHG as enemies. So when a pirate is shooting a lane and a BHG pilot get ejected out of the lane you have 2 hostiles face to face.
And the pirate goes like, I dont have a bounty leave me alone
Bounty hunter says, oke
Maybe a possiblty by adding some commands to add a bounty on someones haed ingame? or to see if someoe has a bounty and you get payed when you killed him?

Doesnt seem right like that.
Tell me, why a Bounty Hunter would risk his life killing the Pirate if the wont earn money for that. The Bounty Hunter would juts take a look at the Database, see there's no Bounty on that Callsign, say: "You're not worth it" and move along. The end, as I said Bounty Hunters =/= Police.

It's a dumb argument to think a few recent people who had run ins with some BH's is equal to being everyone when you mention something like "so it can be better for everyone"
I am very touchy in this thread because it seems like the whining will never end, that the BH player base will always be under attack.
Back whe we were S/D Athenian, Agmen, and I as well as many prominent Indie hunters and Tic's Core faction all joined in championing the cause of creating more restrictions on BHG ID and BHG Core ID. Shuffling of the ships, restricting where the ID's can operate, making forum usage a requirement in the server rules....etc.... The BHG player base has graciously acceded to the epic whining that was going on about the ID's and their abuse, now as the dust settles and we are now in a situation of watching a faction dwindle away to nothingness (house BH that is) and we are confronted with even more complaints of the ID and how they operate. I really don't think you'll get the BHG player base to succumb any further to the whining. I, myself, will stand steadfast in the hopes that some other factions get nerfed and restricteds before the BHG gets under attacke yet again.
I would like to point out, that as of late, Blanket Bounties haven't been as much of an issue, as retarded bounties.
For example:
In System Chat: 250k for the person who kills "insert name here"
followed by alot of:
Cpt.Noob:"OHZ LOOK!! Moneys for a blue screen!"
Then every moronic merc in a raven's talon or bomber going:
"Look at meh, Imma firing mah LAZORZ!!!"
I mean is really that hard to alt tab, and post a decent bounty..not this 250k bull....
On another note, I think that bomber weapons should be more restrictive, as every one and there mom has mounted a snac, and nova torp, and that the ID's need to be reworked...Yes I fly a Tridente with a merc ID, and Yes I have RP with it, but usually I fly around blasting NPC's and rping with the less then talkative npc cap commanders...
I mean seriously, A bomber sent to take out a friggin Transport class? SRSLY!? And on top of that the idiots don't know how to fly them...Because They consistently ram, so you can't get a shot off. Either that, or their net is so fail, that when you ping them, they are at 400+, and still insist they aren't lagging, and you grow tired of it, and just go, you win. Or their fail syntax consists of "DIE!" or "Destroy" or "*absolutely friggin nothing*" before they start firing their lazors, and snacs, making you scratch your head and wonder if they say, "food" "bathroom" "sleep" in real life...OH noez Mindless PVP Zombies haz come to disco
I say, we ban mercs from using pvp whoring vessels, unless their Age and RP reflect something other then their shoe size. I also say, we stop letting them use Sabre's with freelancer IFF's and kraken type 2's.
How we are going to enforce this, I have no clue....

Edit:Schlurbi so just ninjaed me. I am aiming this at mercs who think they are bounty hunters
I am not attacking the Bounty Hunters Guild, I am suggesting things to make it better.
Yet many Unlawfuls always get shot down by some Bounty Hunters. Just for 100K Credits, mostly the people dont even post it.
The Blanket Bounties are kinda against the own Bounty Hunter Rule, I dont see a point discussing about removing them anyway.

Simply put, you want to play an unlawful, then expect consequences. There are enough restrictions in place on the bounty hunter ID as it is without imposing more because you had an experience which presumably you could have roleplayed in response to but decided instead to lobby for more rules. I guess the real problem here is that you got caught.
Members of known ciminal groups are bountied from place to place by lawful factions and corporate groups. A few well known individuals have big price tags on their heads. You maintain you have to do something and be caught and added to a list. This omits the fact that you most likely wiped out a few ships to acquire your tag and ID - and that interaction with the environment, despite being npc's, is part of the development of your character.
Carrying a Liberty Rogue ID eans you are a member of a known criminal group - there are no Liberty Rogue civilians. People don't get to wear Corsair ID's and pretend they are part of Crete's Emergency Athlete's Foot Treatment Clinic and therefore not actually criminals. If you want the ID, you take the good as well as the bad. Bounty Hunters are easy targets for any unlawful without any forum roleplay whatsoever - why should we impose a double standard on people playing the bounty hunter ID?
These complaints come from players who can't accept a simple fact of playing any game: you can't have everything.
A list of every single pirate character? Sure. While we're at it, let's make the Bounty Hunter and Pirate ID's Admin-issue only and make everyone who lacks imagination fly civ ID's. We can introduce the same number of restrictions on criminal ID's in response to every thread that pops up complaining about every single thing that happens in-game. How about we remove all unlawful faction bounties and make it a sanctionable offense for a pirate character to attack a lawful character without forum roleplay before hand?
The setbounty command was considered and dismissed before with good reason. Use the search function and you'll see Gronath's and my own contributions to that debate.
