Well...trader who runs isn't a coward...hes just smart. In most cases traders don't have a chance against pirates in direct fight (container trans may have some chance though). And if u call trader a coward if he runs that isn't very fair.

About trader IDs and pirating other ship classes (not only transports)...Any one who met my Xeno char knows that he asks money for support or safe passage from almost any ship. Yes, against fighters and caps i don't need to ask...i may shoot them out of the skies with out question (especially with my ID). But i don't see a point in random killing. Usually when i ask people in cruisers or battleships to pay me for safe passage they think that i am joking and refuse to pay. And i make them regret that answer. But really cool thing about pirating battleship is that u can pirate them in any kind of ship (although i do it in GB). They are fair game and who knows u may even earn some money. Just killing them for sake of killing alone is boring. In this manner u do some RP with some dose of humor.

Oh and some of best times on this server i had when people tried to pirate my trader.

pay or die is my rule, had a guy the other nite who i asked to stop but he fast docked with a jh and ran, chased him, killed him, took his cargo.

my advice to traders is to check your route for obvious pirates before staring the run.

When a pirate asks me for money, ill see if im close to a trade lane, dock it, let the pirate shoot the trade lane, but still keep it in dock mode...

then ill ask the pirate what he wants, when they ask the money ill try to take off an amount, but when the tradelane comes back up.. ill instant dock, and keep running until he gets tired, shooting all tradelanes i exited;)making him do some Cruise travel so i can get a little distance between us;)it works like a charm ask a bushido pilot who tried to pirate me yesterday in honshu, he followed me to shikoku and i lost him in galileo.

But when in the border worlds, i look at the amount that is being asked, and make a fair price for my cargo, if they dont agree ill try to run like hell:)

ive been destroyer twice by a pirate, got away about 10 times and payed only 2 times.

That's why I keep shooting till they turn away from the lane and watch for the trade lane to come back up. It isn't instant their is a few second delay till you start moving and the gate warps you up. Plus, when you get to a certain point, you just will stay stuck in the gate and never warp.

Unseelie has a GC ID, and a LTrain, which, as i understand, opens her up to piracy form pretty much everyone on the server.....

She doesn't pay money....she runs, because it doesnt make sense in my RP to stop and let them board me...had that mistake too many times....i jettison my cardi for the SF, cause they have proven to be honest, but just about everyone else, should be trying to kill me...outcasts, lane hackers and lawfuls in bretonia excluded.....

What? I don't understand why you talk about a code of honor in trading. Just because you run doesn't make you a coward. You are actually earning money in the right way instead of running from the law like cockroaches run from a turned-on lightbulb. I appeal to a pirate's better nature. I make a story about how I'm actually working for pirates under a false name or that I owe pirates some money.
My favorite thing to do is travel with friends. Two of my friends own BSs. I ask them to travel with me.(Sad too because I trade with a destroyer:lol:) We were stopped by four pirates. To their surprise, we cruise disrupted them, beat their @$$es and demanded 3 mil credits from each one. Who's the pirate now? I then completed my run.
I hate pirates. They always talk about honor and bravery. Is it brave to take on a Prison Transport or Luxury Liner with four gunboats? That's freakin' overkill and totally lop-sided. Pirates have no honor. They scurry at the sight of ONE battleship. I think traders are brave just to put up with them!

most pirates ive seen are in fighters. i for one decided on a better option.

if fighters run from bs, im not surprised. its not a fighter can even scratch a bs. and a bs is now such a comon sight on the servers... :shok:

It's pretty funny that those traders make the money to seek revenge, huh?
"HONEY, I'M HOME!"
Who's laughing now? That little trader grew up to be a giant, vengeful, battleship. What an ironic ending?
