Aside from the fact that your post is blatant flamebait, the point is that there exist civilian transports that independent civilians cannot use. If a "civilian cruiser" or "civilian battleship" were available, I would expect it to be allowed for freelancers to have.

We have tech chart that allows players to get non-civilian ships and yet the ID won't allow you fly anything bigger than a GB.
This has been discussed countless times. There were times when the independent trader ID didn't have any cargo restrictions. Guess what, nearly all traders were independent.
The cargo restriction was added for balancing reasons. You can't have an absolute freedom, no enemies with no drawbacks.

Why not? Do we all have to play forumlancer?

No, but if it were possible to have "no enemies with no drawbacks" for traders, why would anyone ever choose anything else?

Independence comes at a price, and it doesn't have a credit value attached to it. Just look at the Trader ID compared to a corporate ID like Universal, or the Merc ID compared to the BHG ID... Vigilante ID compared to a military ID like the Navy ID, or something like that. There are drawbacks to going it on your own. This is one of them.

And for a reason, if I may add. Generic ID's were so abused in the past that it was ridiculous.
When I got back I was thrilled with the amount of non-generic traders. I think the devs did a damn good in that area.

I re-suggest my idea of removing cargo limits, but making all ships over 3800 faction property. So you have to ask them permission to use them. Makes more sense to me.

and property of who?
Will you do the paper work for the permissions for them since there will be 13563547648w568 requests per day?
Why you try to make your life difficult? There are good routes for freelancers/independent traders as well there are good routes for corporations, there is a barge witch with some good routes brings a lot, there is a mining why the people are always unhappy from what you have?
