The last time the Chancellor, Nikolaus Rheinhardt has been RP'd (I think) was when Rheinland announced that it will send forces to the Sigmas, in order to crash the Corsairs.
The Queen has a long time to be RP'd as well. As for the president, I've never read anything...
Surely it would be cool, however you should persuade the guys who are in the Liberty Government.
The leader of Rheinland was active a few weeks ago, but it was just something small, forget what it was about. He posted in a thread a few times. As for Carina, I've not seen her ever. She's always been represented by Alvin's QCP. And anything Liberty goes to Hale instead of Powell (?)

On the forums:
The Republic Of Liberty forum account is shared between the faction leaders of the six controlling factions of Liberty - Navy, Police, Security and the Big Three. At any time, a person may be called to use that account, taking any of a number of pre-existing characters in the government to suit the situation.
The President of Liberty isn't used often, if at all, since the concerns we deal with are vary rarely enough to warrant his attention.
In space... what exactly do you want us to do? Make a Cap 8 Luxury Liner solely for the purpose of convoy ambushes? Wait, don't answer that. I'll ask the rest of the government first.
Only if the motorcade is as well-armed as the President's is these days.
Which essentially means an amount of stuff no one will dare to shoot at.
But the main barrier to anyone roleplaying the President is that he who gets that job must be both willing to do it, and a totally capable individual as well. There are many of the former, many of the latter, but a scant few with both traits. Individuals possessing those traits tend to be indisposed elsewhere, generally with their own faction.
So, if you have time, the will, the intellect, the judgment and the patience, be my guest. The vast majority seem to be missing at least one of those.
Sorry if I'm bringing up a null point that someone else already has but:
The only thing I see wrong with this is the arguements. So many people would argue about who should be president, unless you're talking about having an actual vote in which case people would complain that they were offline when the voting happened or away on vacation. Also every newbie player would like to be considered as the president of Liberty and it would just end up becoming a cash run voting system. In my opinion it would involve too much effort and planning to have someone RP the President of Liberty and with the ammount of dedicated players we have now that arent already busy in other factions it just isnt feasable.
Well that's my vote on it, but if theres an election anytime soon be sure to right me in;)

Originally the Queen was RPed by Unseelie, from back in '06. After she departed, the Queen was taken over by the Bretonian player government. More often than not, the Queen would not be doing any public talking anyway - issues would be dealt with by the Minister specific to the issue. So, crime would go through the Home Office (BaconSoda), commercial stuff through the Department of Trade and Industry (me), war stuff through the Ministry of Defence (Dieter), etc.
I'm not a part of the Gov't any more, so I couldn't really say how they do it now. From the look of things, it seems it's gone back to the old days of the BAF and BPA doing most of the House's diplomacy and responses, which is a shame. Alvin's done a good job playing government from what I've seen, but at the end of the day, he's still QCP which is just an extremely unconventional form of BAF. :P

This, except crime now goes to BPA, war stuff to BAF and so on but all discussed and proposed through the Gov which has faction leaders and 2ic's.
Non official factions can also propose policy through an official faction linked to thier id.
It was actually the reason behind having Jack's father the Duke of Norfolk die, and pass the title.
This forces Jack into a more responsible role, and as a titled Duke, gives him the ability to speak as he does. He is still answerable to the Admiralty and the BretGov player base, just we use him as a recognizable face and voice for what is needed.
