' Wrote:I thought about that as well. I know about Bowex's long standing feud with Gateway, but would the ship be sold exclusively by the manufacturer? I doubt it. Individual ship salemen would receive stocks from BMM and sell them on to who-ever is paying. Or something like that.

If it goes out for general distribution, I could sort of see that. Then again, it still wouldn't quite look right if Gateway flew a ship with BMM/Bowex on the infocard. Is there a middle, more generic alternative?

Good point. Maybe 'Originly manufactured by BMM and Bowex, the Bretonian Container Transfort was put on the open market for maximum profits. Gateway Shipping immediatly took advantage of this situation and purchased several of these massive craft'

I also see Jinx is watching. Can we haz comments please?

EDIT: Noticed the typo 'transfort', but I'll leave that be because this ship looks like a fort:)

I think I'll be using these for less than kosher purposes along with the Black Rose Royal Liner. Oh yeah.

Thanks for the compromise. I don't think mentioning Gateway is even necessary.

Something like the first sentence is fine: "Originally a joint project of BMM and Bowex, the Bretonian Container Transport soon entered the open market, renowned for its substantial cargo hold as well as its robust infrastructure. Now companies throughout Bretonia and beyond benefit from this remarkable beast of burden."

Also having it at a more neutral place - say, New London - would be helpful, but not necessary.

the ship has long been submitted and hitboxed. - if you wanne write up a good ID text.... go ahead and send it to Dusty_Lens ... he has received my ID texts for the ships... but i don t think i have made one for the bret Container transport anyway. - so you re free to go... if i have submitted one though you can simply tell him that yours has priority.

only one thing ... i d like it to be as free for all as the kusari C-transport.. factionized but not restricted much.

Awesome! Also, will Bretonian Container Transport be the official name? I know the other two Bretonian freighter/transports are both named after breeds of horse, so maybe this could be named the Shire or something? After all this is a big ship, and Shire's are a bigish sort of horse. I think - don't quote me on horse knowledge.

Quote:B-79-E Shire Container Transport:

The Shire was initially a joint project between BMM and Bowex in order to create a cargo hauling craft of immense proportions. The initial prototypes were finished in 795 A.S. whereupon BMM saw the huge potential profits that could be reaped by placing the ship specifications on the open market. The Shire entered the production line and went on sale after a short protest from Bowex, who wished the vessel to remain a private venture. Other rival corporations rapidly took advantage of this decision, ensuring the Shire was to become one of the most popular, reliable, and expensive transports in Bretonian space.

And isn't Dusty_Lens AWOL at the moment?

EDIT: Is that description alright for; "factionized but not restricted much"?
EDIT2: Pushed date back to 795 A.S. for the first prototypes

Jammi, looks nice, but I'd push the date back a little - it takes a while to build one ship, not to mention an entire market for it.

Done. I've pushed the date back to 795 A.S for the first prototypes, with the rest of the range being produced between then and now I presume.

i think you can also PM it to kuraine - he s doing the ID cards. - text sounds fine to me. - after all, its a transport with a HUGE hitbox - but it has the 12 guns of the kusari transport, too - trading off vulnerability of a capship for firepower. - the whole ship is around 15% larger than the kusari C-transport - but thats hardly noticable when you re flying it, cause its larger in every dimension by just a bit. all in all - stats could be copy / pasted from the kusari one - maybe add 10k armour to it ( 105k i think )

gonne be an intermediete transport - the typical hardcore trader wouldn t choose it anyway, as its only got 4301 cargo capacity most probably.
