Wouldn't the ID based nerf still cover this problem? A LN ID player flying a Valor would get nerfed....same with Zoners using Nom guns

Is it okay to RP as spy or saboteur with House Military ID, being covertly an enemy?

FYI they don't have 90% on every house tech equipment. BIS/LSF have 90% on each others tech. KPT/BDM have 90% on each others tech.

I like the tech chart, and contrary to popular opinion, I think it creates more diversity.

Otherwise people just fly the best tech around.

'Diversity' is not about the range of options, but rather the range of outcomes.

Butting in on the conversation, I think the primary reason that people want this tech nerf change is because while you may say it's fine and dandy to roleplay for a ship and get the tech and all that, if I'm not mistaken, it's still 250 million per SRP - and while that may not be a lot to some people, it's still a huge amount for someone who wants different guns on their Guardian or whatever. *shrug*

I would like to see something done with the shipcompat chart, though. While it's not necessarily awful in some cases, it's more redundant than anything else. Any Lib Lawful ship, for instance, is gonna have a 10% nerf on rheinland guns unless it's a freelancer, in which case it's 75%, and if you're going to fly a Guardian on 75%, then more power to you I guess.

To be more realistic, everyone just flies with whatever the best CODENAME weapon currently is.

Problem with diversity is, all snub weapons are just exactly the same in stats (except rarities like Wyrms and Sammaels)

+1 This. A little more asymmetric balance would be nice than to have near EXACT stats on same type of guns for different factions.

Ex: Give Gaian guns excellent power efficiency and damage, but limited range. Give Rheinland military guns high damage, good range, but energy hungry. Give Bretonian weapons moderate damage, moderate range, but better refire rate. Give GRN weapons very high damage, moderate range, but lower refire rate, etc. etc.
