Quite the statement after the most recent of several redesigns done to the house. Even I wouldn't say such just a few days into the newest update, despite being a gallic player for seven years continuously.

People have often complained about how nearly 100% of server activity seems packed into the omicrons (namely omicron delta and the surrounding systems), and they're always wondering why we have so much activity in eastern/southeastern sirius rather than where all the mod updates are happening. It's pretty obvious to me: anything to do with gallia pushes people away. Players want to be as far from that clusterf*** as possible, and that's the omicrons. Now, I'm not complaining, as it's given a huge boost in activity to the factions I always played for the most (Order, Core, Nomads, etc.), but at the same time I can see a definite negative impact on the mod as a whole due to the changes that have been made in the name of 'story advancement'.
My unbiased opinion is that the mod focus, or at least all the splash screens etc that advertise one of the story elements of the mod, should be the Omicrons / Edge Worlds at least. It's consistently the most active region in the game (having surpassed Liberty in recent years). An arguably, it's had the most 'player-sourced' stories with actual gravity and impact.

Seconded. IDF and Picardy are probably the most complex ones, and that's because IDF has an obscene number of trade lanes and Picardy has multiple dead ends that feel like they should have gates at them.
Kusari is no longer the puppetstate of Gallia with end of Democratic Republic of Kusari and re-establishing Empire. The fact that that house does not join either side in that conflict doesn't mean it is under Gallic control. It is simply withdrawal from any foreign involvement after three major conflicts in which KNF was involved.
Just my two dimes.
I don't know... When I see the Yamaguchi, which was damaged by GRN during their arrival to Sirius, then got repaired with the help of the Council, now shoots at Council ships, that sight doesn't really look like a neutral, sovereign Kusari to me.

Their influence over Kusari is questionable now because if KuGov refuses to be obedient, what will they do? They do not have any forces to send there. And I wonder who do you mean by the second puppeteered house, because if you mean Rheinland, then you did not understand the situation properly.
I dont think most people are expecting for Gallia to be on the ropes anytime soon. To me people seem to be thinking the most likely outcomes will simply be long term Gallic occupation as far as Leeds, with Bretonia accepting the losses but getting a peace accord. Or... a total collapse in a final battle resulting in half occupation, and a regime change leading to a pro Gallia government (forced alliance). I'm all for the slow push back but it just seems overdue if that still is an option.
So either we get one of those two scenarios, or Gallia breaks its back in the final push and disappears from Edinburgh and Leeds? If this is the wrap up of the war, then taking months or even years to recapture lost systems is not in the cards either way, so it would take quite a surprise to send Gallia home entirely, no matter how bad NL goes.. So, like Adolf, Bretgov in their bunkers waiting for that wonderweapon that will surely turn things around? I'd like to believe it, but so would everyone in that bunker!
I am sitting on the roof of that bunker, armoured with a stiff upper lip, on the seat of a Vickers, aiming it at any Cougar bomber that dares come near!
IMO, The GRN should overextend their war effort, the council / maquis should sweep in and dethrone the current leadership and establish a house-wide coup, planting a new elected official on the throne. GRN/GRP forces should be split, with most accepting the new leadership and being pulled back to Gallia, while a few stragglers support the dethroned monarchy and become renegade exiles with no infrastructure to fall back on.
The council, now in control of gallia, opens up foreign relations to the other houses. They pay war reparations to Bretonia and Kusari, and all gallic holdings outside of the Tau systems are given back to their respective owners, with council-led efforts by the GMS/IDF/EFL to repair and restore any infrastructure destroyed by Gallia in other houses.
The entire gallic military fleet is officially disbanded, with all warships that are still in serviceable condition being relegated strictly to operating inside gallic-owned systems in a defensive / anti-criminal capacity, including seeking out renegade ex-GRN/GRP exiles and putting them down. Gallic Corporations who remained loyal to the Monarchy and supported the invasion of Sirius are all heavily taxed by the new government, with those funds being distributed as reparations to Bretonia, Kusari, and all refugees and factions adversely affected by the war.
Non-military gallic technology is opened up to civilian use throughout sirius without restrictions, as gallic corporations search for new sources of income. Military gallic tech is opened up for purchase by lawful military, police, and intelligence entities within Liberty, Bretonia, and Kusari, and the Core, meaning 100% tech compatibility for those factions with gallic lawful equipment. Council/Maquis equipment becomes civilian-grade, barring warships, and council/maquis warships are repaired and restored to be used by the new lawful institution.
The Core is contracted by the Council/new gallic government to serve as a police force outside their borders in the tau systems, as all gallic warships are restricted strictly to gallic space. This gives the Core a new area to build their influence, and a new staging point for dealing with the outcasts.
Bretonia, having annexed omega 49 and surrounding systems and now getting back leeds/new london, begins rebuilding and absorbs Gran Canaria into it's house territories. Bretonia, despite rebuilding, is still fighting a border war with the Coalition in the Omegas, along with the Corsairs.
Liberty extends its influence back out into cortez, establishing a new border control there and increasing security around planet curacao so that Orbital Spa & Cruise can re-establish its operations.
So correct me if i'm wrong because for someone who has played Freelancer since its original release I'm rather new to this mod only within the last month. BUT, as someone that has played many aspects of RP games both d&d etc. If we want something to happen within the universe isn't it up to the player base for us to decide this? Although I can't say for certain that RP wise led to this recent patch I can say that the developer's did a masterful job and even though its not perfect its made the game more exciting than ever before.
I feel if we take a step back and think "Hmmm this needs to happen"... WHY THE HELL CAN'T WE RP THIS IN THE FORUMS?! If you want to gang up on Gallic then people reach out to that faction and offer an alliance?! If you want the Gallic's to win then RP a new technology your developing to crush Bretonia once and for all! Lets not complain but work on the solutions and make this game worth attracting a larger player base that everyone wishes it had. Again i'm pretty new but i think we have more potential now than before the patch.
This being said in all humility and anticipation, i'd rather see the good in people over the bad. I must add I enjoy the RP every day with each and everyone of you and please keep being awesome. This seems to be a great community. Don't let this patch get you down and lets all work together to make this the best one yet!

Disco history has been more along the lines of:
Factions: "We want this to happen, and we've done the RP for it, and the ingame events, and stuffs"
Story Dev(s): "Lolnope, this is what's happening instead"
Scratching that out, apparently things have changed with the dev team and it's not like it used to be. I was wrong there, apologies for any misinformation.
