We worked together to get the atmospheric systems in to the game for a more interesting freighter based contraband economy & he was diligent in making sure the economy was fixed after Systems broke it,
It is unfortunate that we could not see eye to eye on that particular major development change that caused your departure, I understand your point of view that it seemed like too much at once, but we are trying to make the next patch our biggest in years, and a patch that will fundamentally make the game more playable.
And just to pre-empt anyone thinking about this, I do not appreciate any negative statements being made against former members of staff, particularly from current members of staff.
Great statement and all

But I hope you will take what Zentor wrote here seriously. Take his development vlogs - something I can't imagine you even to consider - I hope you will and actually engage the community like Zentor has.
I rarely chime in on these threads, but when players leave over disagreements on developments it is often the only way any of us finď out anything at all about what goes on behind the curtain.
I know I'm being retorical as always but I shall remain of the opinion that a unified system was always the best answer to avoid conflicts like this, as rules everyone must follow equally, prevent any individual or small group from unfairly dominating the majority.
Without specifics, it is ironic that Zentor's stance is the exact same as many others throughout the years. It is obvious that the current system works only for a small group of players who have their own tier of gameplay versus the rest of the playerbase that is kept woefully debilitated, leaving us with a major lack of consistency. The best thing for this place would be for the dev team to develop a system to use to surrender the potential for bias or agenda driving changes. Then, devs can operate the system and we'll have an actual game going on here.
Just generally speaking, we don't need any more scripted wars, magically removed stations/planets, or nonsesical scenarios concocted just because they havent been done yet. Which pretty much sums up 'development' at Discovery Freelancer. The backdrop story system is dead and as redundant as it gets, it is literally the #1 barrier to player effort/development and consistent immersion. Designate player driven actions, link it to gameplay, so developers will have more determined for them automatically, and less to argue about. If doing that would make you not want do be a dev here, it's you who should go.
Hi, 2014/2016 called, they said they want their indoor devdrama back. Maybe stop being so egocentric because at the end of the day we all know who wins in that regard. (Me obviously.)
Now what I want to know is the following, should we, the Community, the players be worried about this "departure"? Is there more going on behind the scenes or is this just yet another clash between the who's the bigger dick with more to say that shouldn't even be made public in the first place?
I'm no stranger to these little clown shows, and they were generally caused by conflicts of interests that involved certain parties and groups of friends, so I sure a hell hope this isn't the case here, and considering you've made this public it automatically becomes our problem too. Some of us would like to know if there's more going on behind the scenes that we would like (or hate) to know.
Those that are saying Zentor left over sour grapes or because he didn’t get his way has no idea what is going on nor took the time to really read Zentor’s post. That fact that it has taken this long shows how much of a pile of grit Zentor is.
This is one of the last devs to leave that cared about the COMMUNITY rather than his own faction or echo chamber.
This is not a goodbye, Zentor, for we still have work to do elsewhere.
I hope that either all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments. But rather, by the strength we show when, and if, we're ever given a second chance.
Anyone who drops a thread to say they're leaving has a serious problem. Didn't see me drop no thread when I quit Story.
This obvious attention seeking, knowing damn well it's going to cause a fuss amongst the community by doing so, does it not make anyone question motives?
Smoothbrains. Besides, he ain't actually leaving, just quitting the pain that is trying to progress this rotting carcass of a mod for all you ungrateful swines, can't blame no one for that.
When contending with a monster, you'd be wise to give the devil his due.
