Uh.. But Christians killed tons of people. Even god killed several hundreds of thousand people. I mean, I still support the no religion theory or numerous small gods worshiped privately, but i had to step in when people say Christians don't kill:D
personally, judging by the influences the original developers used when naming things, I would say a mixture between Catholicism, Othodox Christianity and Islam.

I also remember seeing this one somewhere. Although the two factions have been separated for the best part of a millennia, I would expect some traces to remain through the Corsair society too, just not as prevalent.

I don't personally recall any Islamic references, but I also haven't looked particularly well. I wouldn't be surprised. Generally, though, I wouldn't consider the Corsairs as a whole to have one "supported" religion, but many in and around it's peoples. That's more or less how I see most of Sirius - Although the Outcasts may have a strong Catholic history, I've seen very little about the rest of the colonies. I just assume religion, although still around, isn't really the spotlight of culture anymore.
My own Corsair character commonly departs with the phrase "Vaya con Dios", which as far as I know roughly-roughly means "Go with God". She's not a religious person who'd believe in a diety, but it's a phrase she's picked up from the generations of her family and most likely lacks any real religious impact nowadays. I like to think that people in Sirius know of religion, but just don't make such a big deal about it.
Any of the religions now present on Earth could have been brought to the Siris sector, since humans there come from Sol.
You could make up all sorts of new religions, or add your own changes to existing ones and create your own sect.
Ironically, in the islamic world, christians are sometimes refered to as "canibals" because of the "body of christ" thing where the priests give wine and bred and says its the body and blood of christ. And because of an event during the crusades when crusaders took a muslim city, then were surrounded by muslim troops, ran out of food, so they started eating the dead.
I think there is lots of potential in Corsair RP about the "body of christ" thing:D
Btw my xeno is a born again christian, who goes around with his "babble and raffle, spreadn' tha word of gawd and oua lawd geezus chrast"
I would say that by the 23rd century, religion would've washed away. As technology progresses, and the life expectancy increases.. religion does not serve a purpose in the human culture.
And I think that the people on-board the Hispania, aswell as the other sleeper ships were mostly highly trained people, or people with some valuable traits, and not a bunch of priests and other religious nuts.
But then again, Freelancer is a placed in dystopian future, where interstellar travel is more common and cheaper than food. :/

Oh the irony.
Anyways, seeing as we don't have any info on how things were religion-wise in Starlancer we'd have to assume that they're the same as today. Whether each house continued their faith after they got to Sirius or turned atheist is unknown.
Education, my friend, is the best way to fight intolarance. I suggest to learn some stuff instead of believing in "inquisition burned people" or "pope wanted crusaders to pillage" idiocy and myths.
