Seems awfully similar to CR's (and likely other factions before) method though Jeremy:P
I was busy typing roleplay on another two sites as well as Skype Roleplays and a lot of things not for this; I just got stuck with making the thread because I stole Joey's cookie.
I'd imagine it would be similar to a lot of factions considering that I asked for suggestions in both the SCRA Chats and the Faction Leader Chat on how I could streamline recruitment.
Believe me, I loved the old system, it was unique and had it's own style to it but the fact is, it was time-consuming and daunting. We lost too many in the last few batches because we were dealing with just 2 or 3 people.
So, we decided to make the Forum portion of it all easier to let people have a chance of actually getting in-game with us. However, to compensate for that the MIL- portion will be much harder. Before, it was just another rank really, if you made it to MIL you'd probably be fine. This time, we're assessing a lot of things before we promote you to Lieutenant. Which, after the Rank Overhauls can use up to Storm.
This was done because people don't know why should they go via all the ape **** of the old app if there is an indi ID now for those who think they are red enough.
Nope you are quite wrong- it is what Swallow said: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militsiya
or better that nice guys that rob you on the road hidden with radar in the bushes or watching calmly while eating sunflower seeds when bunch of bandits beat you in order to rob you. Being "Militsonyer" even in online game is so tempting indeed.
The former communistic countries reality was so nice I miss it a lot- poor capitalistic born kids like the most of you really missed the fun like NKVD reducing the IQ of the whole eastern Europe and russian Asia by simply removing people with such.
You want to have the Auxiliary/Militia rank go with "рядово́й" or "солдáт"
Also about the rest- nice move.

Well I liked the old RP heavy oh you might die thing. It was just something only you guys did really well, made your faction much more intimidating for sure. I actually wanted to apply on three separate occasions but did not because I did not think I would make it.... I guess that is why the new standardized recruitment thing is more appealing. Easier to manage, easier to get into. I see where you are coming from, so I am fine with the change.
That's something we're trying to avoid. People simply are not applying because they assume that they won't make it in, which is a big problem.
We want to make it easier to actually get into the faction, while at the same time not compromising our high standards. So although you might make it in as a MIL, you're not completely safe. We're hoping this system will give newbies and people who are unsure a chance to prove themselves through their actions, rather than through their forum RP.
