Just as much as assaulting any capital ship in your fighter lacks sense as you have no concept of death from its point defense system. Except 5 fighters can kill a capital ship. And a lot of stations are smaller than a battleship.
EDIT: Also I'm fairly sure I've seen NPCs around hostile stations. They don't survive long but they are there and fighting the station and its defenses.
Yeah, there being no fear of death leads to some stupid *****. But it is what it is xd
What is even more un-immersive is watching a battleship quickdock on a station that is twice as small as it just before it explodes so that it gets to shoot at the enemies until the very last moment.
lmao, yeah. If you could prevent certain ship class from docking at certain stations. That might not actually be a bad idea.
I yust got killed by a RH ship in Cologne. Do you get the 5/10 mill bounty automaticly or do you have to claim it here or somewhere else.
Sorry, it's a bit complicated and i am not the fastest player around, i have to admit, otherwise i wouldnt have been killed yust now, lol...

No offense to the event, these events are good things to keep busy with, but this is also a negative effect of kill counter events. We literally make the battles about mindless pvp. Now this event does have some consequence over the BHG station, but no one really cares. BHG are practically non existent anyways.
I'd get involved if it were over a more important station, or a shipyard, and there was a larger goal of saving the station. No one cares about kill counting or kill denial when there is a bigger picture to worry about. If something actually is at risk, ships will fight to the last to save an important base or system. Or if ships do withdraw by docking, all that matters is you got them out of the battle. That is a win too. If a base were under siege, forcing a BS to dock helps greatly.
I dont mind kill bonuses but we focus only on jamming people into pvp, when we could set up a scenario that would get players focused on the goal rather than who got away. If a base is under siege, if you drive away 10 battleships that would attack it, but dont kill any, if you saved the base all the damage that would have come, thats worth more than any amount of kills in my eyes. Inrp thats also worth a promotion or medal.

There's always some scenario in which some group is gonna have the upper hand based on number of players and skill distribution. Add the fact server can't handle lot of players in the same system and especially caps. If story development was written based on PVP skills events Hessian would own half the Sirius. These events seem like a fine middle-ground where players have impact but it's not going to derail everything.
