Not sure if using it is against the rules though.
Anyone saying that this is not an issue is just butthurt from Cloaks.
Yeh I like cloaks,
Does it look like I'm butthurt because of Missiles/CD's being able to trace me down?

Don't think I hate this 'issue' which isn't even a bug.
Perhaps have the JZ use missiles to trace down those that are cloaked?
Please stop saying people are butthurt because all it looks like by now is that you can't take the comments.
And feel ... well you know. Butthurt by them.
Edit:
Snak3, please get back being a alt, you behaved a lot better being someone else.
Cloaks already have many drawbacks - they take up the CM slot, making a capital ship equipped with a cloak easier to nova to death. It takes 70 seconds for a large cloak to activate, all the time your shields are down - that's more than enough time for another capital to tear you apart. The small cloak activates faster, but it is so limited by fuel that you won't be able to make it very far. Plus afaik cloaks can be destroyed when you die. And they are costly.
There are many drawbacks - but this one effectively renders the cloak useless, and is obviously a bug. Someone with evidence, please submit it to the right section.

its not imaginary if the methods to actually track somebody using a cloak exist anyway even today. your ship doesnt dissapear from existance using a cloak, you are just invisible. invisible ships believe it or not, still give off heat/radio waves/radiation/gravity (specially large ships)
any one of these could be used to locate your ship without the visible light spectrum. so please shh:P

Some of you pirate guys don't like having a 20% chance of getting blue screened after you bought a cloak.
But le me, the trader don't want either to get pirated all day long by cloaked pirates that demand 10 mils all day long and LN can't do a thing about them. So thing about it, if it would've been that cool the cloak, in all systems would be pirates on every lane asking "8 mil or dai".
And now the counter: call le escort isn't valid either, maybe there aren't more than half escorts for a trading ships not to mention the difficulty to find them.
P.S: and if you aren't alone and there is a guy that appears red to your chaser, the target will automatically change on that guy so you can cruise away. Not to mention that even if a person has you targeted with CD, with some little effort it's easy to escape in a 3k range, where you can cruise np, as most of police guys have mosquito CD ( that's why I don't use mosquito CD on my lawful ships).
So now stop complaining about a piece of equipment that is cheaper than 4 ARCHANGEL.
2nd Edit: Also, you'll find yourself into a BS missile spam if this "glitch" is solved.

On to the point, I was generalizing that. Because we all know cloak was made to hide your sorry arse. With this bug, you no longer have an option to take advantage of a cloak to flee safely. Let's not forget cloaking turns off the shield.
Do you think that it makes sense that with this bug known, using cloak to flee becomes useless? Not only you deliberetely exchange cloak for CM, but now you are just a sitting duck without any proper way to counter this.
It is the same game mechanic abuse as regenerating powercores to get an edge in fleet battle.
Cloak before the fight and get out?
It's a smuggler thing, not a fighter combat unit.
As you may be aware by now.
Use a cloak and you're less valuable in combat.
But more valuable in evading any of it.

What are you on about? When a pirate has to cloak, he will most likely be running, i.e. not hugging the trade lanes and pirating you or anyone else passing by...
I believe LN can escort traders too on their ID, so the LN could do that, or just generally patrol the lanes to keep them free from pirates. A cloaking snub only has fuel enough to get away once - it's not like they can stay cloaked and then pop out of the cloak when they see a trader passing by.
As I see it, cloaking pirate snubs only really pose a problem to bunters and mercs, as they are the only ones who ultimately has the blue message as a criteria for succes/payouts. LN and traders benefits from simply the pirate not pirating, they don't have the same need for a blue message.
