To be honest, I was interested in RPing, and I did RP with him for a while actually, mostly responding to his "I'll never give up" messages.

I didn't AFK, I was at the keyboard, and could type periodically with one hand (LOL that sounds really bad )

I just wasn't interesting in being blown up by a Battlecruiser, I didn't do it to grief him, I did it because I didn't want to be PvP dead as it would stop me making money for two hours.

I was actually really annoyed about it, certainly more than he was, he got what he wanted, I left the system after I died.

I won't do it again in the future as there's no point, and it it really is a waste of time if you're PvP dead anyway.

I can't tell you how much I hate annoying little pricks who just fly as far away as they can because they don't want to participate in the interaction. That's pretty much what you did, you ran away from it. 2 hours is not a lot.

I did participate in the interaction, I was RPing a fleeing transport that was scarred of losing his life, it's not like I was silent the whole time, I talked with him.

If he wanted RP, he got it. It's a "RPing server", not a "bend over and take it server".

Why would I want to "participate" in an interaction that doesn't benefit me in the slightest? If he was a pirate in a cruiser, I would have paid him, but he wasn't, he just wanted to pop me, with no demand.

If it was two Snubs, I wouldn't have ran, I would have fought back, at least then I can PvP, even though I have no chance of winning, I can still try, against a BC, I have literally no chance of fighting back, so screw him.

I RPed with the [LN] official faction the other day, I have to say their RP was excellent, rather than be boring idiots and gank me, which they could have, they fined me, and forced me to leave Liberty.

It was fun, it makes a change from the "ZOMG A PIRATE PREPARE TO DIE LOLZ" pew pew. I wish the lawfuls would actually RP and do stuff like this more often, but they don't.

In RP, they humiliated me, made fun of me, really got under my skin, and it was a quality, and for once, a fun RP interaction with a lawful.

It's not in a pirate's interest to stay and fight like an idiot when the likelyhood of more lawfuls showing up, or even worse a cap to gank you is so high.

The reason I run is to assess my chances, and the further I run, the less chance of more lawfuls showing up to help, so I have a chance of winning.

My preferred method of escape is to run to a JH and cloak away, that really annoys the gank squad

"Lolwut" is a term that perpetuates elitism, and you seem to use it quite a lot. But you seem to dislike it when the shoe is on the other foot and you're getting accused of it. As I said, hypocritical term used by hypocritical people.

The reason why the server population is falling is because long-standing players have been leaving and the game is too old to attract new ones. There are a few reasons that these older players have been leaving, for the PvPers like me it was because changes in both balance and styles of play resulted in most combat being a contest of who could shield run better and longer. Only place you can get a good duel when people actually shoot each other for extended periods is Connecticut, and even then you get some people who go there and shield run anyway.

I can give you many reasons people don't RP the way you want them too - it's because if you, as a lawful player, don't kill the unlawful, they will just come right back and you have to deal with the same problem over and over again until the unlawful gets bored. It genuinely surprises me if an unlawful that I tell to leave, who then appears to accede to my demand, doesn't then do something naughty in a neighboring system, or even in the same system.

Here we go again, now you're comparing me to a silent trader?

1) I wasn't silent

2) An positive outcome can be gained from a pirate encounter, I can pay him off, 99% of the time it's more beneficial for me to do this as I still make some profit at least, or prevent 100% cargo loss

3) This ain't the case here, it's either run, or lose everything, including the 100mil I would have made if I was able to stay in the system, all a trader loses is his cargo, he can trade elsewhere.

Why on earth do people keep comparing this situation with a pirate encounter? It's not similar in any way, as I've stated multiple times now.

It's not only falling because of that, it's due to the lack of RP in general, a new player posted a diary documenting his first few days here, and said, if it wasn't for one guy RPing with him in Bretonia (probably a Salad), he would have left.

All he encountered other than that was either silence, or "10milordie 5 seconds".

And don't give me that "There is no point RPing because they just come back", most of them are blue message hunting, pure and simple, there is no other reason.

No, from my single bomber. Leading me like 150k below plane then giving up and letting me kill you slowly. I killed myself with mines to get back up. Half hearted RP, shitty behaviour. It wasn't fun. I wasn't even going to autopew you. But whatever, screw all lawfuls amirite? I rite.
