The point of the codename is to bridge the gap between independent and faction players :/ selling codenames in guard stations is like selling lottery tickets in an obscenely rich neighborhood.
The availability of a Codename weapon is directly proportional to the price of it.
Said price is also directly proportional to the efficiency/firepower/whatever of its respective codename weapon.
Explanation: People will always get the best guns/ships they can without being sanctioned. There is no solution to the codename problem. The demand for them is unfortunately too high.
' Wrote:I like the idea of more faction class 10's.
Indeed, I agree.
' Wrote:Codenames need to be turned into unique weapons - very short range, very slow, very fast, very long range, low accuracy, high refire, homing, etc. You can do weird and crazy things with guns. Why don't we make Codenames much more varied and unique, and give people chances to adopt unorthodox strategies using experimental weapons?
Bombers can't use them any more, and it's time we made them worthwhile elsewhere.
I agree 110% with this statement. If they are "experimental", why wouldn't they do all sorts of crazy stuff? Imagine seeing a blob of plasma follow you.
' Wrote:Why not hiding the most rare ones from datasotrm so it really is a challenge to find them.
Personally, I hate Datastorm. It's the unofficial cheat. Anyone who uses it should be set on fire and buried six feet underground. Horrid program, ruins the game for the person playing and anyone else they tell what they've found to.
' Wrote:Or we could just make civilian stuff worthwhile and not have to rely on codes. But that's just me thinking.
I agree with this too. Flashpoints are pretty BA, but they just don't stand up to the weapons such as codes...even though codes suck your energy away like nobodies business.
' Wrote:Idea #1: Code names dropped by missions in out of the way systems. Give people a reason to spend time in odd and interesting places.
Idea #2: Make ships logged out in space drift randomly, up to 200-300 km. Give random people a better chance to get to the wrecks.
I love both of these being that I do missions on a regular basis.
' Wrote:Drift away? Sure, but 200-300k is a bit too much, I mean, what if you accidentally disconnect. It be a pain to fly for 10-20 minutes before you can go back to a fight or a Role-Play event you were in.
I'm sure there would be some kind of time effect on it. If you logout for say, two days, you drift quite a ways away from where you were, after all, it IS space. Anything already moving will not stop unless some force outside it is exerted on it.
' Wrote:Make them gone after death...
Would make people second guess themselves going into a fight, wouldn't it?
' Wrote:The wrecks should be in random locations and change every 24 hours. Dont know if this is possible, but would certainly make the weapons RARE
Yes. Yes. Yes. However, how would you explain the shifts randomizing in RP? I can see the RP being the same from above, that they are drifting, but how would you explain them bouncing right back the oposite direction they were drifting towards before?
' Wrote:Idea #3: Crash the server every 30 minutes. Codenames for everybody.

Really? If it ruined the game for me, I'd have quit a year ago.
I think it's more the "play my way or you're playing wrong" crap that's likely to ruin the game.
But, hey, maybe I'm the only one who thinks a Rogue should already know (or have a map of) the majority of Liberty's jump holes without having to search for them all the time. Over and over again if he has more than one ship (such as a Hyena and a Bactrian). Probably not though.

The only people I tell are people who ask, or someone in charge of fixing bugs if I see something amiss.
Of course, I do not mind being set on fire and buried six feet underground, because, frankly, I do not believe the fire would have enough oxygen to sustain itself. Eh.

Can I haz additional skin ripping and staking becouse I use flstat and flcompanion on top of that I use datastorm?
Now about faction 10. Faction 9 are already balanced as the best faction guns out there. You won't just make new better weapon. It will throw everything out of balance. }
Code prices. It's market economy. If you are a person who uses faction 9 guns why you should care in the first place. Let them have it as they want. Alltought yes, they could be rare and preciuos, (that's why I offered them being loosable after death same as cargo) but is that that neccesery?
Quote: As I always say - Codenames are over rated.
Quote: But its better than 12mil per code
Yes they are in my opinion too. But what the heck, if there are people who are willing to pay those 12 mln I think you will need to get along with that.
Heh. That helped me. You collect a lot a lot of codies. And sell them alltogether to one dealer for 2/3 of market price or something for 150~200M and so on. D:
Quote: More RP less pew pew
I fail to see any relation between codenames and portion of pew pew. Abusing behaviuor and interest to feel fairly treated are quite diffrent things.
' Wrote:CODENAMES Now: I will park my ship by a wreck, and each time the server resterts ill pop out and collect them totally OORP, then F1, , then sell them totally OORP for a huge profit. Then the player that buys them has wonderfully OORP weps to fly around with.
Speak for yourself. I kill codename hunters with my pirate and then donate them to my pirate-faction's armoury. Who only sells to allies. Totally inRP.
