A relatively simple way to reduce PVP time

Indeed, penalizing groups with bot sharing removal is bad thing.
It nerfs the new players and give advantage to older and better people in PvP.

-> New players are always nerfed as old players are always buffed. Real life has it's impact here.

In general if the server was most of the times full and in not so attractive timezones with around 150 people like it was in first 4.85 year I wont give a damn, but now the new players are more valuable then all official factions together with all veteran players, empty server is no fun for none after all.
Sadly Discovery community is full of too let say "traditional" veterans that follow some strange codes and ways not acceptable in general public that is not part of the said community. Good example is feeding bots from caps to snubs- something that is in general frowned upon, when at the same time overkilling the bad skilled nub in front of his capital ship is good thing. So the nub that got many friends( READ SERVER ACTIVITY HERE) should give easy blue msg to the PvP whore because the balance allows single capable snub to win vs. 4-5 nubs. If we apply normal life logic here discovery logic sux big time. Hence the reason why many new players try the mod, like it,get raped in PvP by old players several times and leave.

Same thing with cap ships- give them crap anti snub tools and let everyone have it, instead making their maintenance harder and let groups working together to have them making them what they are supposed to be in RP- killing machines but rare sight at the same time.
As result discovery goes in quite wrong way supporting the weird and total illogical old-time thinking of the older community members.

No fun is when server crashes while gamma raid with all those newbies on lolgates.

More fun when there are no rides and gamma is empty? Better any players on any ships then empty server.
Also they spam legates because the Devs allow them to do so, make each capital ship fuel dependable and basic resource dependable in order to fly and repair, give them real power in exchange and you wont see any nubs flyin any caps. Caps would be possible to be used only by good organised groups.
You might get surprised when Cannon proposed fuel usage on ships 2 years ago how the veteran players reacted....

The crashes are a different topic that is addressed by different solution strategies (hitbox changes, bug fixes).

We are talking pvp improvements here.

If you want to make fights shorter make fights easier instead making them more harder. Just keep all the same and buff of the gun projective life and speed and look at the results:
Magic- even the nubs with bad aim would hit
A lot of trolls and other bad blood in community would instantly disappear because numbers and tactics would decide battles not the skills of bunch of individuals.
The number thing would promote teamplay, people would need to stick together and would need numbers so in general the server would receive more active players.
Being hardcore hard in PvP the server is not fun for new players that serve as meat in the meatgrinder. I also find PvP not so fun since I can tell in 1 min if I would win or loose in 90% of the cases. There are like 30-40 people with good aim around, the others are just meh and die too easy.

This. Basically as I've mentioned in that "General rebalance idea" thread, and few other people as well.

And no, it's not dumbing snub fights down. It's making them apealing and enjoyable for the larger part of the community.

Hell, even Salmin, who's pretty good fighter pilot, recently said to me that he's willing to fly capships in raids from time to time, because it's way more relaxing to fly one.

Same happened with me (with exception of that I was at medium level at best, back then), I fully dropped fighters because I felt too exhausted after snub brawls.

P.S. Increasing projectile speed won't result in a situation where a low-skilled player will be winning over high-skilled one. They will, though, result in a situations where 2-3 high skilled players won't have an easy time against 6 rookies. Numbers, tactics and organization will matter.

Again, the words of friggin truth. I'll only add that newbies were, are and will be flying caps until fighters become less demanding. They will be flying something they get most results from with their skill level. That simple.

As for idea of making caps more powerful and worthy of their cost in exchange for significant death penalties, fuel, etc (i.e. you better have cash if you want to fly one on the regular basis) - I'd definitely vote for that.
