What I've gotten to work. (Nomstuff community/devies please read)

What if you just stay cloaked waiting for the backup to come? It is huge advantage to be able to stay cloaked unlimited time without spending money for fuel and without being dependable on fuel sources. You could move unseen and avoid all kind of interactions- humans cannot do this because of the burning fuel.
Every snub could dodge the proposed times in order to cloak again I would also dare to say that Cruiser can dodge 2 min as well and Marduk 3 min too if there are not so many enemies. It is not like that they does not need to move in that time.


My Idea among this lines:
-Nomad cloaks substitute armour- you cannot use armour if you use cloak- they does not take CM slot.Buffing nomad capital hull ships is required-nomad ships and armour are stupid at first place together.
-Activation takes no time for snubs, 2 min for GB , 4 min for cruiser 5 min for Battleship-each activation requires fair amount of Liquid Cardamine so no more then 3 activations are possible without recharging. While activating the ships have no shield and no core recharge.
- Different class ships should have different cloak duration- battleship one should be like 60 min pro activation and fighter one 20 min. When uncloaking all nomad ships are battle ready- full energy and full shield-better shields for nomads are required- 20% more regen and basic shield would be nice thing.
-buy/made problem 200m for battleship 100m for cruiser and 50m for fighter and make them to go poof 100% on death.
You got offensive version of the cloak with many defensive disadvantages.
Then you got your balanced cloaking- with advantages and disadvantages like human cloaking.
In general you cannot have the nomad ships balanced like human ships and have the cloaks or jumps balanced otherwise- they need to be the same or totally different- otherwise one of the both sides would be on the wrong end of the balance.

Your way of thinking is wrong because I don't agree with it. That is how you come off Gov and it makes you appear extremely childish.

Contrary to what you think, the nomad factions are different from the human factions. Do they deserve gear that is far superior to what human factions have? No. The suggested cloak is not far superior to what human factions have. It is merely a different version with pros and cons itself.

There is nothing wrong with them being able to simply buy the things from one of their NPC bases. By lore they should all have them as part of their ships from the get go. In order for them to be construct able on a player base, the nomads would need their very own player base with all of its own modules and stuff. Meaning, the development team would have to take their time to build a copy of the player base feature specifically for a single player faction. Then there is the matter of what would they use to build it? Oh, yea, now you're talking about adding in a ton of nomad only commodities to be used exclusively to build their player bases.

Not worth of dev team's free time, in my eyes and goes against your mantra that they don't deserve special treatment.

I'm not sure what the issue is with it having an unlimited cloak time. As, the entire purpose of their cloak is for ambushes. Meaning, they are suppose to wait on back up to arrive before they attack. That is the point. Nothing is stopping their victim from moving, thus the nomads have to track their prey and lose them if their prey docks.

Huggi is working hard for the nomad faction since he has become its leader. He found that nobody did anything for the nomads after 6 server updates. He've done everything in order to help the devs by creating and testing the new features for the nomads. The devs can have their final word not few players bound by rage against a closed faction.

This thread is to show that Huggi and the nomads wont give up and wait for 100 updates before receiving a single equipment and more nerfs while any other faction can improve their tech especially with the sharing equipment and nerf options + SRP. Anyone who says the current nomad tech are OP have no idea whats the difference between 4.85 and 4.86 nomads.

Dont scam Huggi and stop turning any nomad topics in to flood. He is doing his duty as faction leader.

Fallen, I agree with you 100% on this. Huggie spent HIS time coding, testing, etc on these.

The rage and hatred is unneeded and uncalled for.

As Daedric keeps saying. There are pros and cons, and the cons balance it so they are not OP over the Base-made ones.


Also, I'd love to see a random trader attempt to supply a base in Iota or 99. That would be freaking hilarious. /sarcasm

As a BHG Core pilot, i can say its but fair that nomads do get a buff. Not like it matters, their hardly ever online and whenever they do get online, people gank them to smithereens faster then the jumping zoners can infiltrate a guard system.

EDIT:
i do agree that noms dont need jumpdrives, its not like it was part of their original tech, however cloaks are native nomad tech. Considering nomads is biological they should have unlimited cloak. I mean octopuses can change shape and color as they wish IRL, its only logical that future space squids should be doing it too.

You must be kidding me. Becouse with your statements all seriousness died here...

Why you need armour if your hull is on the same level like you have armour I mean buffing nomad ship hulls and shields is logical- you would get that if you have read my proposal - not quoting only part of it in order to present only the negative side.

If you want nomad devices to be balanced differently you need nomad ships to be balanced differently. Nomads does not want to use human made devices and want their own but they are using human made armour interesting twisting the lore on the way that suits you.

Huggie might be a code superstar- but it depends on Devs not on him- 6 updates is indeed a lot so the simplest solution could be to add liquid cardamine as fuel at Mox rating and make it perishable like Mox- I bet it is 5 min job and requires no coding efforts.

Nomad players are very much not agreeing to have human like devices. If the nomad folks does not want their stuff balanced like all other stuff then propose something that actually gives any pros and cons for the cloaks or other devices not only pros like no fuel and no time restrictions in cloaking.
You all must stop mixing balancing with RP and Lore really- stop it- both things have nothing to do with each other. There are many wrongs by letting them buy the things that other people gain on a lot harder ways- they could buy it from open market- there is nothing wrong with that. If we look on the lore only then how the nomads buy their ships for credits? Why they cost credits at first place then? How one nomad get credits? I mean you touch the lore question only if it suits you- so stop mixing stuff and get to the point.
Point is how to make balanced but different devices for the nomads- in system that they need equal effort to get them like all other non-nomad players. It is changeling and interesting topic why you spill all of your hate instead using your brains?


Nomad players first must decide what they actually want and give it in clear form that could be balanced towards all other kind of human technology- what Huggie made is to get some ideas together- I like his approach and I would like to keep it on topic. Discovery applied double standards for nomad factions a way too long and now it is kinda over so you need to deal with it and make some realistic proposal with real pros and cons. My point is that none faction/group etc should have better technology then others- this is the only way to keep the ball rolling without rage and problems that nomad related stuff caused in 4.85.

As for your saying we remove armor because its human made. Now I may not be a biologist (though I do have a friend who is one) but I seem to recall quite a few species in real life with armor it is something called AN EXOSKELETON TRY EVERY BUG IN THE WORLD! So do not try and feed us that line of 'they cant have armor and different tech than me because they are lolwuts and will gank me into oblivion!' While that may not be your exact words, that is what everyone hears/reads.

Everyone else on this thread agrees with the post, in regards to the cloaks, which I also support the cloaks, I can see a reason how we could have ships popping out of the marduke (see Surinam Toad http://www.honoluluzoo.org/images/surina..._eggs2.htm IE bunch of 'eggs' or in this case fighters in its body that could fly out) We are not asking for the sun popper weapon on all ships or a giant gun that simply states 'Nomads win' across the server than blow everyone up at once.

The nomads are not Terror they are Targets the way it is now. That new cloak would make them able to be anywhere, that paranoia is worth far more to the faction than anything else. Like predators stalking their prey they blend in to their surroundings, look at octopus and cuddle fish they do the same and we are basically those.

As for jump drives, I like the idea of them being able to be anywhere maybe limit them to fixed coordinates in a handful of systems in each house space basically back doors the noms can use for their nommyness, They have the ability to than get to pre determined spaces (A secret only the nom faction would know for cords to prevent camping) Always in out lying systems away from the 'main' systems of a house. I suggest this because if they had big jump gates the humans would likely have either tried to deactivate/destroy or just put a massive defense/blockade/minefield around them. RPly they could be opening temporary(or permanent existing) jump holes that only nomads can perceive due to their nature. This just aids further with the Terror aspect, that the nomads COULD be anywhere. It is that Terror and paranoia we want to instill in you silly vertebrates.

Easily fixed by a series of one way JH in IOTA near their base..... With infinite cloak, you dont need to jump, as the most scary part of it all, would be to see a buncha noms move from system to system and you got no frikkin idea where they possibly might be... you just know "now their here, and now their gone"....

Even im remiss about that. I would rather let folks check the player list and see our movements then be able to jump ontop of someone cloaked within the three minutes+ it takes for a charge and cloak to take effect.

Okay... Scenario:
Person 1 has no connection to Person 2(vise versa).
Person 2 has jump drive capabilities.
Person 2 is hunting Person 1.
Person 1 and 2 do not know where each other are at.
Person 2 coincidentally jumps unto Person 1's location(~100 - ~500 m).
They could potentially know which system they are in. Note: They both are not in a group(or anything which would compromise their co ords).
I have experienced this outcome, being Person 1.
I have long suspected (after being in something like this) that Person 2 was cheating in some way. Because there is no information on where someone is in a system(including Note).
