The Colonials haven't just jumped in with the Battlestar Galactica and shot the place up with Vipers - we have our own backstory that doesn't conflict with existing lore (at least not any more than some factions in a similar position), shipline and RP that has developed over time.
Hey, look whom and about what person is replying. I was expressing my opinion on the idea of Battlestar. Which is import.

And no longer in the mod as an RP item, along with a fair amount of things that would 'break immersion'. As I said to Nick (who I wrongly accused of talking about the Battlestar), nobody in CR is (seriously:P) looking to get them back - we have our own shipline that was made within the RP of the mod.
I would love to have the Zephyr back.
It was an awesome ship, especially the looks were very good.
The new Kronos is an eyesore.:(
I don't know much about the balancing stuff as I never flew the 2 caps really
So, from an aestheticist's point of view: pls giiive Zephyr instead of Kronos.
Zephyr was one of the most sexy caps ingame. Horribly underpowered, but sexy.
Kronon is a giant box. That's all there is to say really. can't comment on its performance. I had one for a few weeks. =CR= disbanded, I sold it cuz' it was ugly as hell anyway. Altough I should say it couldnt dodge incoming fire to save its life. Literally.
Id love to see the Zephyr come back, maybe a modified version or summik. an upgraded one. Zephyra or Zephirage (nerd)
It somehow fitted the fighting style of CR. A light, agile carrier that didnt rely on brute force but rather coordination and speed to smack its enemies. add to that the fact that the CR in rp are bomberwhores (like GMG) and you have an even better excuse to bring the Zeph back.
tl dr:
Bring the Zeph back. rebalanced. Kronos is a failed attempt at getting a ship that should not have been made in the first place.
Old Zeph or new model following same design. CR's interstellar x-box doesn't cut it. Never flew any of them myself but first was way more friendly to eyes.
Modifying stats of the Kronos is technically easy to do - just some ini work. Same with bringing the Zephyr back, since we have retained the model (and still use it as a dockable base in T39).
Now, being realistic, I'll have to say that the Kronos is unlikely to get a buff. It's a compact, but solid battleship with mediocre allround stats and good arcs on the available weapons on it. It's a ship that is hard to flank since it's weapons practically reach everywhere (I believe only one heavy turret has only the forward arc). CR asked for a heavier cap then the Zephyr and Doom delivered. CR is not due for a dreadnaught class ship, but like I said before, I'm not against them getting the carrier, with it's old stats, back.

The problem with the Kronos is that it`s a victim of disco balance. In most cases, medium bs fail hard vs heavy ones. the 1 exception is the lib dread which, due to its shape and size, can dodge rather well. it can fight like a light bs. The Kronos cannot. Plus the Kronos is a nightmare to fly in astroids. CR almost exclusively operates in space filed with astroids. Apart from Coronando but moving CR there was more like a banishing than anything else. There's nothing to do there so claiming a Kronos can operate well in Coronando is like saying a Valor has no trouble fighting 50k above the plane in Langeloc.
I agree that the CR should't get a big heavy cap. Doesn't suit them. but to be honest, nor does the Kronos (see above). A light, agile bs is what the CR ought to have. It's what they used to have. Bring the Zephy back I would suggest. Only properly balanced this time around *cough*

With the Kronos unlikely to get a stats buff, would the dev team be willing to implement my other idea?
That being, keep the stats the same, but add two more docking modules, and 200 more cargo. So it basically has stats similar to the Aquillon, and then re-class it a carrier.
Considering its stats put it in line with the Elbe and Aquillon anyway (Aquillon is leagues better because of its shape, size, and agility) - its also still vastly outclassed by the fearsome LAC.
So adding docking modules and extra cargo I don't see as being horribly unbalancing - it just allows to Kronos to fulfill some interesting roles for CR - that being a full carrier, and also having the cargo to act as a jump ship.
Example - Two Kronos Battleships - one filled with Docking Modules, the other with a Jump Drive - the jumper jumps both ships, and any assorted ships in range - like other snubs, thanny cruisers, hydras, etc - and you have a recipe for some good fleet action rp - I think it was Rommie that said the Kronos was designed by =CR= from an aspect that no BS works alone - so two can make up where one cannot.
