Thanks for the interest and support folks, I would of never considered having a different company build the ship, however it'd still need to be Bretonian in style.

I'll give your ship some thought. Complaint I have is that bretonian transports are all named after horses.
That'd be grand Unseelie, I noticed your work on the Destrier, looking good so far. The ship names are a bit odd I'll admit but it does seem to suit the neo-victorian style of bretonia. If you come up with any ideas for designs, even if its just a description, it'd be great as I have no idea what this thing should look like.
I was under the impression that all the imported ships would be removed from Discovery, if possible I'd save the stats of the Firefly and just apply a new model no sense fixing what isn't broke, perhaps tweak it for the interdiction version.
So it's an import, so it's a bit blured, so it's hardpoints are badly placed it's like your old Mum, she might look like hell but you still love her. Leave the Firefly alone!
I agree for a remodel - or at least a retexture - of the Firefly. Its horrid looks don't fit at all in the standard that other ships manage to uphold.
I might try making a model for it, but I am utterly incapable of making it playable, so I'd have to pass it over to someone else in 3ds format to convert it into game material.
I can't say I understand why people want to keep the Firefly but to each their own. Though I would prefer it if people would post suggestions or ideas for this new ship rather than turn it into a debate about the Firefly, that is for the devs to decide.

Even a rough description would be something at this point Druen, I look forward to seeing your ideas.
Something like this, maybe? This is still just a rough concept, and I found that bretonian style isn't exactly for me. But I might work on it a bit more if people likes the general shape.
Not bad for a first start. And don't worry if Bretonian design isn't for you, it seems like veeeery few people can pull off the whole Bretonian aesthetic in their ship design. There have been countless tries and failures in the past. Most of what we have is directly based on something else (like the Percheron).
My thoughts, right now, best I can do until my mouse arrives, are as follows:
Give the thing a sloping body, much like some birds, front end being fat and bulbous, the back end dipping into a flatten fanning tail. This allows for a lot of detail to be seen from back on standard camera veiw, which many ships suffer from today. Protrude from the upper section of hull, just before it plummitets into tail, two thick wings, much like the challenger wings. On the end of those, like the firefly, engine pods. These will be ovoids, and decorated in heavy rear facing plat rills.
