The Phantom is useless

So, yes, that is the problem. Especially for Rogues, fighting against the LPI's Liberators.
They need to fight outnumbered, and against vessels which are 4x smaller. What a handicap.
Sure, the police and navy needs to have much better ships, it's logical...


About the Phantom; I think it's small enough for a LF.
Plus, RM doesn't fight LPI Liberators.

Most of the LF's are underpowered, imo. Most (including the Hyena) don't even get a class 9 shield slot, even if the max weapon class is 9. I don't know why that is because every other LF in vanilla has a shield slot that matches its max weapon class; the same goes for almost every other ship type.

My Decurion is supposed to be "built for speed and agility", but really it is not that fast when compared to heavy fighters with much more firepower and armor.

Namely: Phantom, Loki, Hyena & Surveyor



I wanted to put Libby in there as well, but decided not to.

Hyena, being the largest of the bunch, has 4 forward firing Cl.9 guns, while the Surveyor, having the largest top profile, has 2 Cl.9 plus 3 Cl.8 firing forward, which leaves Loki & Phantom as the only ones with the classic 2/2 weap slots of an LF. However, having access to 2.00 Plasmas, actually makes Phantom better than the Loki cause a 2.00 LF can actually shotgun any med HF and below. So technically speakin, Phantom isn't underpowered compared to the rest, because of the guns it can use.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing Phantom as a Greyhound-like HF, but that'd then make the Wraith obsolete.

Meh, phantom Is great, let it be as it is.
Besides buffing armor or shield in LF will give you NOTHING.
Even adding MR.
The only way LFs could be OPed is agility, size and mass.

the problem is not that the hyena or the phantom are big, the liberator is awfully small!

Lfs are good, but Liberator is a way OP in terms of surface square.
Even Wyrm has wings which makes it less or more possible to hit.
The solution is not making LFs smaller, but just give a new model to a liberator
