I play Disco for 2-3 months and I found out from various posts n the forums that players use furry characters (humanoid animals, or antropomorphic or whatever it was)
Still, my question is:How come they are so used?
And also, inRP, how they got to Sirius? And how are they accepted by the humans?I mean, I doubt that humanity would welcome an alien specie with open arms
I have nothing against them, but to put it short, I don't play disco for long enough to know how they started and I would like to find out
In fact, I always thought that Sirius could need some more alien species as it's space after all...But i found out that alien characters are viewed with a degree of hostility by other players

I still don't really understand why they are so popular, ok cuteness right...and maybe other stuff but ok...But still, inRP how they made it to Sirius and seriously, why Furries and not something else?

I think you'll find the same background for every furry. They are all experiments of <insert faction> and want revenge.
The general consensus seemed to be that furry characters are dumb, but the people playing them take that as discrimination or something. Lets be honest, it is dumb. But so is Gallia and huge parts of the original freelancer campaign. It's a sci-fi that should not take itself seriously.

This kinda clarifies everything
Now, on a broader viewpoint, let's say a guy wants to put in a new alien specie into the game, let's say a Saurian(aka reptilian), or insectoid, or who knows what...with proper background and all, how would that be viewed?

I really find the young generation ill in general sadly.

Truth is, you either are ok with furries or you hate them. They are not an official part of Freelancer lore and are completely dependent on individual RP preference. The typical excuse for their existence is the "secret lab experiment". While plausible, it is not always appreciated.
Nomads are the only alien species that is native to Freelancer, and a lot of players like that. Kinda like how people appreciated the TV series Firefly because there were no aliens.
Anyway, Furries exist and will probably always be around in some form. So it is best to be tolerant to some degree.

Never said I hate them, I do tolerate them though, as long as an encounter with them would result in at least a decent RP it would be all right...
