I didn't log in the multiplayer discovery server yet.
If someone has already joined a faction using my name, there are 100% chances it is an impostor.
I'm still playing the vanilla game at the moment, and will probably join the discovery server tomorrow or sunday.
I will try to keep a fair distance between the big fearsome ships and me, thanks for the advice:)
I logged in a few hours ago and went mining some helium in order to buy a cargo in order to mine more helium e.e
It looked like the money earned that way was a bit too easy to get, but this feeling vanished as soon as I noticed a light fighter for sale for around 1M credits
While in a base, I switched to firefox in order to read the rules once again, so that I would know if I was breaking a rule by doing this weird cargo-mining thing, and it appears that it wasn't that wrong after all.
I still got autokicked for base idling. It would be very kind of you to add a little line to the rules saying that idling in a base is forbidden :/
Despite the fact that the freelancer ID seems to allow me to do various things, I think I would like to join a faction and get involved in some RP, or at least have a goal. I'm just roaming around for credits at the moment.
@ My_Alt
I would be very thankful for any advice that could be given.
As I am a beginner on Discovery FL, I don't really know much about what happened 17 years after Edison Trent had a hard time fighting the nomad. And I mean a really hard time. I still managed to go through the whole main storyline again in 10 days (:D) Even if I now remember the main story, the Discovery mod seems to have a lot to teach, and I'll be happy to hear or read the story of any faction, as much as advices on which one to choose.
(Reading faction stories might aswell become my new assignment e.e)
Thankful for the welcome, and glad to fly in the same universe as you,
Valen.
I'm in roughly the same boat as you - played the game in its (and my) youth and only just getting into the Multiplayer side of things. When I decided to get back into it (it's only been a year or so since I last did) I spent a couple of days reading through the Discovery Wiki to catch up with what is new so I wouldn't be caught out.
For a quick lore update of recent history, the timeline on the Wiki is not bad. The faction pages are also a good way to work out what is going on.
Hope you enjoy the game and maybe I'll bump into you on the server...
