Well, in PvP Vidar will win 7 times from 10.
If you're searching for anti-snub cruiser-you should pick Hel, with solaris loadout he can kill 2 averade bombers.
If you want really HEAVY cruiser-your choice is Vidar. Only Obstinance and Rheinland cruiser can be compared with Vidar.

Okay, that's interesting. According to the wiki (no access to FLStat right now) the Vidar and Hel have the same agility. So that would make the Vidar superior in every way, with the only real drawback is that it's Hessian only. So if you want to fly a Unioner or an LWB cruiser, it'd have to be the Hel.

Let's compare that to the Rheinland cruiser, its main adversary.

So, the RC has 40k more base HP at the cost of a gun. Its profile is also much slimmer than the Vidar, meaning it can strafe with greater ease. So in that case, a Rheinland cruiser would win in a straight-up slugfest. If the Vidar was careful in its kiting and strafing however, it might be able to wear down the RC.

Hel is Hell, rear facing 360° CD, brutal 360° on 8 arcs, one 350° arc,heavy GB handling,small size. It is like a Imperator with cruiser features and 20% bigger.
I played with this baby not more then 5-6 times and got at least 3-4 snubs LMed.The ship is overpowered as Hell.
Vidar is also really good and can use the OP missile( 1 missile that does take one slot but do nearly dmg as 2 of them+1 heavy slot as result) effectively but smaller ships do better anyway.
Vidar have also OP heavy turret arcs.
In general all hessian stuff is slightly OP, same with the RM/BHG stuff, you cannot get bad ship, they have no drawbacks compared with all other ships in such class.
More Blodo Balance for other factions I guess wont be possible, not all are special.

Well it is indeed utter stupid that from all unlawful cruisers those 2 and the blood dragon one are really good without drawbacks when all other suck in one or other department. I guess Balance is making users fools not me, if you disagree show me unlawful cruiser that is comparable Scylla or Storta or may be corsair cruiser?
They are all bad jokes compared with the hessian cruisers.
Go prove me wrong I am eager to see how the Hell hessian Hel have backfire cd stop cruising battleships and no other cruiser have it, I am also eager to see why the hessains produce the best cruiser missile in Sirius making Vidar effectively the only one cruiser in Sirius with 5 heavy hard points.... I wont even speak hull and arcs because it is really pathetic.
When such ships are blatant overpowered compared with their contra parts it is not that hard to notice it.
I know it is fun for the users of those(I have Hel and got Vidar shared) but someone need to state the facts at least. I am not in any skypefriendship/group/conspiracy/organisation/etc or in any faction in order to care about explaining how good and wonderful are devs and how good balanced is everything because I have some request to them concerning my faction so I have liberty not to be hypocrite and call the stuff with their names.

Hel and Vidar may/may not have same max turn speed... but the acceleration should be the key difference in that case..

I have fought a RPC and a Vidar... even as an enemy, you will notice that there is worlds between the two of them...

Neither of them can win in an outright slugfest with a RC or LABC though... as for pure firepower, Vidar VS Praefect is a 70/30 win for the Vidar... Depends mostly on the distance you start shooting, and surroundings... If the battle starts close up, in open space. Vidar dies, any other scenario, and Praefect dies....

Actually, from 4.84 till 4.86.1 (when i mentioned it for Blodo) it's infocard still said that Hessian Cruiser missile was a joint project between OC and RH.... However, -someone- felt the need to "correct" that...

Not that it matters, the missiles was never sold on OC bases anyway.
