Why? Why are they ''special''? Because they're not human.
Their ships do not have communication systems, they use telepathy to ''talk'' with the pilot or even the whole crew, and the human brain is too retarded to understand exactly what they're saying. So that's why they're special, you need to know what to type, and to give an idea or explain something in riddles. Not exactly, but you get my point.
It's an RP standard that they want to uphold in their factions, so they won't just pick up people by random and show them the ropes since people can do wrong things and mess up things really fast.
As for the liver part...well, money is money and they have to turn a profit in life too.
oh pls do me a favor, nothing a few exploding ships and good aim can't cover up for.
Those two are the last remaining tool factions that need removal/change, I cannot see anyone normal willing to join so ye.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. While one can think that a Nomad is all about lolpewz, KoS everything and so on, which will above all be unable to chat (not trying to be a smartarse here, but the server's name is after all Discovery RP), and you cannot predict what the Nomad will do, without the chat. This way, using their telepathic communication, you can tell whether they are ready for a fight, or just some steady RP-ing.
I can tell you that since I had a situation like that...
' Wrote:Now with Wild factions it's more of closed clan of people they choose to invite than just "impression". Srsly you got to be very naive to think that personal prepositions don't make a diffrence then it comes to accepting new members. They invite what they want and then make up stuff to justify why they did it. On rare occasions some rp might play a role, but srsly, it's not the primary criteria under which new members are accepted.
Never said that personal impressions of the faction players don't matter, now did I? I was just stating the main reason as to why not everyone qualifies. That goes for a reply to you as well Swallow, you guys took my facts way too deep, I don't have any deeper meanings except the ones I just said.
Although of course, if you want my own -opinion- on the ''delete nomad factions'' thing is, well, people that can't get in simply getting annoyed by it just because. The general public of discovery hate things that they cannot get into, they think they're entitled to be able to do everything and have anything just because they play discovery, you know, ''fairness'' and all.
Well again I'll give you my -opinion- on that, that is, the ''invite-only'' factions. If a group of players make a faction, and are actually dedicated enough to make that 'new' idea work, become official and whatnot, then they have the right to do whatever they want with that faction. No one ''deserves'' to be a member of such a thing.
On on topic example would be the nomads. The nomads didn't exist before, as in, they didn't have playable ships and dockable bases, nor did they have any systems and the such (except the unknown ones, but those are from vanilla fl anyway). Yuri, known as Treewyrm was the one that made the nomads a playable faction, they told him he couldn't do it, that he couldn't accomplish it. Yet now the nomads are ingame, the wilde and anything related to them were born from the faction you know as the Keepers. The only reason it's all ingame now is because Yuri and whoever else was helping him making the faction wanted it to happen, they gave up their time and were dedicated to making it work. It's their right to accept members, and make others leaders of that faction if they desire, it was also their right to make it invite only. They made it all.
Same goes for other such factions, the =CR= (not anymore since it's been turned over to the devs), the VE|,[HF] and the Wilde are just prime examples. They weren't in vanilla lore, they're in disco lore, made by the players, they deserve to do whatever the hell they want with their own factions, not some random ''indi''.
It actually goes for any faction really. Not just the non-vanilla ones
TL;DR ? Well here you go:
Their faction, their stuff, their rights to whatever they want with, just because they're inactive doesn't give you the right to even put forward the idea of ''removing'' them. As long as they abide the rules and play above the set time per month by the admins.
Get over it.

Half of the server population finds RPing with nomads terrible.
Thus

You guys are just too proud of being special, that's it. Don't hide behind "we don't want people to abuse our OP ID", no factions want rotten apples inside, and there're good folks around.
In universe where should be feeling of "nomad threat" there is none.
' Wrote:oookay, k`hara. But as far as i know to become wilde, I need to pass ordinary nomads?
Negative, those two factions have no connection when it comes to accepting new members, nor they even share single member as far as I know.
' Wrote:In universe where should be feeling of "nomad threat" there is none.
Ermm, not so much, in unverse there should be felling of "Gallia threat" according to devs.
Nomads wouldn't be mentioned anywhere, Minor wouldn't be lost, Order defeated if Order/Nomad players didn't start that initiative.

They prove themselves useless due to the fact that they actually does not play their Boogyman role. Idling around or barely logging to keep the "status" even if you have such nice gear and ID is frankly pathetic.
No need of them actually- go to NY count the Scyllas. They have the same effect as pure in-game terms and the funny thing anyone can play it. Grab a LABC or Scylla or similar and have your mute shoot everything that I see game it is np, no OP stuff/Q.Q stuff and fun for all- it is good thing that the Nomad Factions in their current form are dead. If you does not like NY go Hessian/Corsair or even if you love to be ganked make GRN so many better choices then /1nonsense /2nonsence pewpew.
Totally ignoring the nomads is the way to go till they start to lack activity enough to be dissolved then new proper solutions could be implemented.

You should read their recruitment forums. Also, I think it's quite hard to get into Das Wilde. Chances to get into the Nomads are higher, at least that's what I heard. You need to meet them ingame and RP with them. To gain their interest in -possibly- consinder you as a 'rookie' in their lines.
P.S.: Just saying. Nomads and Wilde have influence in the entire Sirius sector.

How to join K'Hara:
1. Start with intention to RP an alien, be creative, think of your own way to implement the ways you will RP.
2. Get a morph, fly around to test your own ways to RP.
3. Contact someone from K'Hara or send him your RP adventures (1 or 2).
4. Fly around with K'Hara player or players so you can show them how you RP your own way.
5. If you are at point 4. , you are nearly ready.
6. If you have some players to support you (those you Rp-ed with) then all is done
7. Welcome
Is it hard?
Point 1 is most important - are you ready? Are you going to be in mood cuz if you are not you cant RP properly. From 2 to 5 are only in-game actions. Fly alone and fly with other nomads - its interesting and wont take more than a day or two. Points 6 and 7 are the conclussion if all is fine.
By doing so you would prove not that you are "special player above all others" but a player that CAN RP a nomad by using his own way if its good enough. Remember - the players you RP with will say if you were good or bad and their opinion is of importance.
Quote:Where are they?
If we dont count the GMT difference, most of the nerfs to the tech of the nomads (rendering most of them as useless) and all the hatred against this faction - the most important element to encounter a nomad player is if he is in mood. Yes thats right. If you are not in mood to RP properly - the results are...not good. Both sides are not satisfied and the entire interaction is fail.
If that keeps up you receive a fail image of the nomad RP. Thats why you dont see all of the members flying around - cuz most of the haters are trying to ruin the mood and the desire to play.
p.s: I sense disturbance in the force and probably an admin should close this thread before it turns in to another flood and bonus hatred points against the nomads.
