Hey there!
Another [LN] goon here, part of many conspiracies.
Okay, I'm not going to post my side on this, even though it's obvious. My point is that this thread has gone way off topic. Shall we venture back to Narcotic's question, before the mods goons lock it?

Aaaanyway, I think that Conn is a useful tool to teach fighting and grant battlefield experience for leaders. It's also used for "I'm bored, let's grab our bombers and head to Conn". Both of which are relatively harmless. However, there are some people who do use Connecticut for many other reasons, and/or most of the time.
Do some members of official factions overuse it? Perhaps. But if it is too much of a problem, than the server admins should talk to the Conn addicts, and/or remove the tag activity tracker when they are in Conn (providing that; they have the time to do it, it can be done, and hasn't already been done).
"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
Oh. Timbuktu and Alley, all that has nothing to do with this thread in general. Could you please stick your argument to PMs? Thank you.
However, it'd be nice if the activity tracker wouldn't work for Connecticut. Another solution would be if the factions themselves try to keep their official tagged ships out of Connecticut. At least those who support this idea.
How about RP'ing Conn to be a training simulation, instead of a "system"?
// hmm, that's nice idea!
And why should guard systems be ooRP?
Most of them is ooRP, not so long ago admins were asking factions do they wish to make their guard systems inRP and include in the lore. Why they should be? I don't know, but they are. Faction's own little Connecticut, I suppouse. With /conn command, and hopefully standard equipment like AU8, class 10 shields, scanners thrusters etc available in normal places, on capital planets and major unlawful bases, guard systems lose their initial purpose.

I've just had to remove 34 posts for having absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. That is ridiculous. Alley, behave yourself - insulting people is going to get you in trouble. Timbuktu, you behave as well - constant off topic will do the same. Stay on topic and stay civil. Big Brother is watching.

I was on topic until the same people came galopping in again to continue their forum Jihad against the infidels and blasphemers.
So, to make my point on the topic (again), I'm all for removing the activity tracker in Connecticut, if it's possible. But it's only one of the symptroms of a larger problem with officials factions: people want to keep the faction rights, but for some reason need extra activity time on their chars to be able to keep it, and for some reason they aren't doing it by fullfilling their role play role, like they should be. That's right on topic. I'll leave it at that, like I did before I was asked to elaboate more by the forum-Jihadists.
Making it a training ground as an IRP virtual reality simulation where everyone treats their oponents as soffisticated AI-simulations also seems like a nice idea. Maybe rename the Connecticut system to "Simulation" and the /conn command to /simulation. Afterall its not in Liberty anymore. And that way it could also be made an IRP system where a death doesnt count as a death.
Actually, I don't see how banning officials from Conn will help to raise activity. If a man don't want to RP, you can't make him RP, no matter what you will do. Well, its excluding usage of a shotgun as a stimulus.
Conn ban? Whatever. Anyone can go 50K up or down and read forums, have a chicken, watch a film or sleep.
I personally think, let them have fun in Conn. If you have duties in game it's killing fun by itself, no need to put more pressure.
