But just because an issue has existed forever doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed.
Yes, prolly increase the number of AFKs.
But hey, it's the future. And in the future, ship's autopilot computers are smart enough to ensure that a ship can fly around a round object without having to restart its cruise engine every two seconds.
Why has nobody done anything about this all these years?
No atmosphere? GTFO.
The propeller is the greatest invention of all time.
Well, mainly because it's vanilla FL part => no source code => very hard to change.
[11:20:20] aerelm: its not fl dev work if you dont have to power through the whole thing on your own
[11:20:32] aerelm: help is for pussy devs like in dota
But is it possible to like change properties of the sun so that it tricks ships into to turning away from it earlier or somethin so that ships keep their distance from the corona...

The only thing we can change about sun-related autopilot is increasing and decreasing the distance at which the autopilot will keep you during the flight.
The issue you're pointing out is not really related to the solar objects, but rather the ship size here in Disco. You have to keep in mind that the game engine was designed for fighters and freighters as player flyable ships, but since Disco (And some other mods) have opened up capital ships and larger transports, lots of limitations when it comes to the engine itself cause minor issues like the one you're pointing out, as well as the difficulty in quickdocking lanes/gates and the screen jitter on Go-To with larger ships.
Since apparently nothing can be done about it without the source code, you as someone who's playing a 10yo videogame should understand and expect such problems, which aren't a big deal anyways, and I personally have never considered them anything but a minor nuisance since all these is rather easy to adjust to.
I quite disagree with aerelm, in 4.85 90% of the ships with issues in 4.86 had none.
I guess the issue is connected with the hitboxes and shield bubbles of the ships together with their center of weight -hence the autopilot put some ships a bit left/right up/down and they stuck because the said point is not proper adjusted.
It is just bug in development if you mean gates and lines.
Suns stuff is adjustable as well- no need for big coronas for the suns at all.

(yes, i've seen enough of those lolduels, where house military with overwhelming force on the field willingly loses a pilot in a duel. ffs.)
Just find out what the autopilot detects and set the radius on it larger. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a line in an ini file or a simple hex edit change.
