Whats up with the useles NPCs?

I think thats what they had in mind, you know - buffing npcs in places where people are not supposed to be in, or perhaps should but thats the price they have to pay. One such place should be alaska, but I know its outlandish and it will be dismissed, but seriously - they even changed sig-17. I put up with all the changes, but atleast preserve alaska and some other vanilla systems, its the least we can do.

I'd like to see Pilots, weapons (occasional) and Credit cards back when it comes to NPC's. I agree that they should not be strong enough to effect player on player interaction. But its just not the same anymore only getting botts/batts off an NPC after killing like 20 of them. Also since the changes were made, as far as I can tell, Sirius Credit Cards are basically useless. I've heard the larger missions npc's still drop them...is this true? I haven't done any cap missions lately. Otherwise they are just a useless commodity and can be axed.

I did like the idea of being able to salvage some equipment from npc battles though. Especially for newer players, they might find a decent thruster/scanner or weapons of actual use. It would also be good for Nomad space too, you could go back to hunting for remains and nomad weapons. That way you wouldn't need good rep with the Order to get nomad stuff, it would make them a little busier policing people out nomad 'stuff' hunting.

Already, I cant handle interacting with base huggers since, the moment I just EK and start to type in a few words, my shield goes bam and hull starts to go down fast.

If NPCs were made, to their original stats, their guns, I can never interact, not even a stop or halt message to any trader before I am penetrated deep into my hull by the passing by Liberators and guardians. And if CD's are added, smuggling, and piracy will be dead, since, if you are chasing a transport and you get insta cd'ed by a fighter x.x

Not always do people type fast in system chats. If they wanted to get in their messages before a few NPC's rip them apart, no chance of that. And in case of a LF, HF, or even VHF, death is assured within minutes, given the current NPC spawning rates.

Hell no, or reduce NPCs to just 1 at a time. Currently I have seen a lots of NPC spawning near the lanes, 10 or more. Even with those guns, they manage to take down my shield pretty fast.

The main goal should be to lessen the spawn rates. Make it considerably less and then it can have some buffs in its stats. Untill then, do not buff NPCs.

Agree with Singularity. If it were just 1-2 strong NPCs with good equipment every now and then, wouldn't be a problem. 6-8 strong or even normal NPCs very often can ruin someone's day really quick.

Strong NPCs for missions, or very deep and danger space, like deep Omicrons, and deep Omegas. Near or in house NPCs should not be causing much problems for players.

I agree with this. I thought that the change to NPCs in 4.87 was to make their spawns less frequent and to give them better equipment. I'd say reduce the spawn around normal zones to 2-3, and in more protected zones (e.g near planets, stations, and capital planets like Manhattan or Planet New Berlin), 3-4 or even 4-5.

The reason why NPCs were so overpowered is because of the fact that they have infinite powercore, meaning they can permafire their loadout at you, as long as you are within their vision. While it doesn't affect snubs as much as they move quickly, caps such as cruisers get shat on by large swarms of NPCs. Same with transports. Imagine 10-12 NPCs that respawn consistently, loaded out with a full set of class 9 faction guns pounding away at you indefinitely, and doing that 1/10 throttle thing where they practically stop dead just to shoot the cap, while you're engaged with an enemy.

This is probably common knowledge by now, but just a little insider tip for extra knowledge for those who didn't understand why everyone was whining.

And that is why "declining" the "spawn rates" should be the main focus point, instead of making the NPCs just a decorative feature in the server.

maybe we need designated Systems/ subzones like(insert systemname here) e4-e5 were the harder npcs are spawning also (if it is a warzone like Dundee) fight other faktions npc´s. so the players who can only get cash from killing stuff have a place to hunt without taking missions. btw, it could also placed in a system were no base has missions anyway.
