well,i love anime and all that it replaces tv for me because all films are utter shi.t ^^
(except Fast and Furious and alien vs predator i like them but nothing else and maybe some others)
I can understand where criticisms of repetetive characters and exaggerated animation come from; this medium certainly has some well-known tropes. As a regular anime watcher myself, I'd be first to agree that there is a plethora of non-memorable characters, but there are also some stand-out characters that equal or surpass Western entertainment. The animation really depends on the genre; often the overly exaggerated (or extremely cartoonish) animation styles appear in shows which are intended to have comedic value, whereas those with a more serious approach are usually more realistic.
That said, if you're watching anime that has been dubbed, you're not experiencing what the creators intended it to be, so you ought to do yourself a favour and watch it in the original Japanese (with subtitles). This usually gets rid of the rough lip-synching and awkward voice acting.

I don't see a point of creating topic like this - and like I said I would never create such
but since it's already created I do not see a problem with criticize it
So ultimately, like me, you DO 'get it' ...opinions are like a**holes & threads simply give us the means to express them like dog groomers would our pets at the vet's office

"Look at my opinion! Isn't it cute? Isn't it soooo intelligent?"
"I'm sorry, but we'll still have to neuter it."

hmm.... i dont really buy into the subs vs dubs war.
It all comes down to each series.
Some anime i've watched is much better subbed than dubbed, and others are better dubbed than subbed.
But then it also comes down to how much effort the licensee puts into making the dub. Some dubs ive come across are horrible (i know there is one company known mostly for horrible dubs), but others have made an anime much better.
I'm not sure if this wouldn't be closed IMO. The flame war can emerge from that topic any time (even it is okay for now, but...).
Thereby: I second someone else's question:
Why to make such a topic?
It is just like, "I don't like gays, hurr durr, because they are that and that". "I don't like cheese pie, because of that and that." "I hate Southeners, because they are that and that." What's the idea of topic like this? It leads nowhere and I kinda smell trolling here, after "few" posts...
You don't like it? Fine, don't do it // don't watch it // don't say that "it is tool of Satan"// etc. In Poland, I've came across enough pseudo-analysis that Anime and Manga are tool of satan, lead to ocultism or are pornography forwarded to kids or are even cause of the suicide! Jesus Christ.
