P.S. As a member of the Core| I can tell you that we prefer snubfighting(bnoses as well), but when it comes to the omicrons. Well too many floating fortressess.

When the K'Hara are around it's great, because there's caps etc. on both sides making for a really meaty pew.
When K'Hara aren't around, things do get a bit 'easymode'.

Actually I can imagine the Nomads like the Rachni from Mass Effect. If you played Mass Effect you'd kinda know how the Rachni Queen speaks through Humans:





I kinda like it huehue, but yeah, what I see from Nomads is more like "sounds" and "visions" together. As "sounds" they speak with broken english from Human body makes sense since they can't realy speak but maybe operate with "Sounds" and "Vocals" "Voices" which they use. The Wilde are a perfect example from back in Vanilla (well, true those Wildes had incubis implanted but you get what I mean) as tekagi's eyes suddenly started to glow and his voice changed as if someone else would be speaking.

Just saying for those which kinda have a hard time understanding it, think of it like the Rachni queen from ME ))))

It started when Ench (someone who is now permabanned because too much raeg that he no longer got better gear than other people after the technerf plugin) got shot by a navy cruiser while he was blowing up dozens of traders together with his friends, and thought that was so unfair that he said he'd ragequit.

Joe, the morally superior person that he is, made this larmoyant post for his SkypeFriend™ (kind of omitting the whole context of in which Ench got shot by said cruiser), deleted posts of people who pointed out the hypocricy in it and how nothing good will ever come from this holier-than-thou nonsense (mine among them, and also Weedalot methinks), told people to stop arguing against him and stay out (he said it to the exact person that shot ench and who was was filling people in on the complete picture), discovery's foremost moral authorities Magnarot (saronson) and Camtheman (now camthebanned) jumped in screaming "THis happened to me too! I got ganked too! Everyone so bad but Im so good!" (incidentally they were also the biggest snub-shooting Zoner juggies of the time) and so on and so forth.

Anyway, this thread played a major role in catapulting disco into the dark age of stupid that we have found ourselves in ever since. I know it's pretty much Joe'S fault, but you shouldn't insist so much on telling everyone it was him, Haste. He's going to say you're obsessed with him or something.

p.s: Also, it was after my post got deleted in that thread (and after a thread in which I had a fallout with people who were gloating on the forum at Michael Jackson's death, some moderators/admins among them), that someone told me on the server that he could violate rules towards me without repercussions, because I was a flamer of admins. Turned out he was correct.

Tenacity, First, I never said that nomad lore was to throw away and all that stuff. Second, even if your brain was capable of seeing that in my message, I will explain the point in a way you'll understand. Lots of effords, big work, very cool. Where is result? Why do I see only five ships on K'hara list that barely reach 10 hours of activity, and possibly are one and the same person? Is that good enough for you, or should I explain more detailed? Now please, if you dislike the attempt to bring Omicrons best source of activity then flying talking nomads, leave this thread, your critics is the same type I said I don't want to have here in the first message, in case if you're blind to miss that.

Snake, yes, I can imagine nomad speech, but not as broken english. If you are capable of studying, for 20 years I think you can learn how humans talk, especially since you have so many of them under your control. And sound illusion is nothing bigger then the vision. So why bother learning lots of nonsense when it's actually possible to speak properly? Anyway, I don't want this faction to be chat oriented, because once you do that people who join expect lot's of fun "RP" in the faction. And that's I completely don't want to have.

Lots of players like Tenacity wil not agree now, but in my opinion this server is lacking some proper factions, oriented into organised fighting, rather then chatting with everyone everywhere. And by the way, "PVPWhore" is not a proper word here, as I am barely reaching average skill level on snubs, which are mainly what we're allowed to use.

Ahh yes, and to Toji Haku. Have you seen a single NPC that is able to challenge a player on the same type of ship? Once devs make such, then your point will have a value. But before... I don't see how this is fun, even if you make NPCs spawn in hundreds (which is now only 8 at once)

k'hara players commented in this thread that they have no real problem with the faction.

if k'hara likes to log on to blow people's minds, that's really great. if this faction wants to log and blow up people's ships, that's equally great.

there is no conflict between the two.

@Timmy it's their way of speaking... I guess a correct english would be too humanoid, while their actual communication/language is way different, as example of how they'd talk together with all those visions and feelings, voices. Their language might be in a level where some things can't be translated into english and thus comes out very broken (in fact I know that from other countries, some words or some expressions just can't be translated into english and if you use that other word it just doesn't fit as same as on the language). So I'm sure the Nomads are talking like this because simply english doesn't support all the words they need to express stuff you could think of it like that. Some words can't be translated maybe, so they either just keep it out, leave it blank, or speak weird. Sure they could maybe use Nomad "words" for those words which can't be translated into english, however, this would end up like this **'Ours' voices -seek- K'atarkt mrkkkrk Lekekekelke KElkeman (!)** would look weird.

Copying what I said on skype here.

What you "see" in ingame chat is the interpretation of the thoughts and images that the nomad sends you through telepathy. Since the nomads are alien, very different from humans, the interpretation might not make sense to your particular character. Think of it as your brain trying to translate it into words/concepts that your character is familiar with and understands.

That quote is from the discovery nomad lore pdf, if you are curious.
This is why it looks strange and abstract.
This is also why visions are written in more or less normal english.
Images and feelings are much easier to comprehend for humans than the thoughts of a nomad, but finding the intention/meaning behind the nomads actions is still hidden, to find that out you have to read between the lines.
