so..i've looked at the faction activity for FAZE faction and i could not find more than 2 members,which is even less than BHG| has (even though skype chat is inactive and i could not even find it in new version of skype)

So you are proposing to merge with a dead faction and take control of it when your faction is even more inactive?

As one of the old BHG|, MM~, Reavers, and a whole lot of generic mercs over the years, I have to say this is not that good of an idea.

Pvpwhore-wannabes are better off in merc factions, and it's not meant as an insult, just an observation. It's the play style that defines the role, and people behind the character are the ones that define the play style. The old BHG| had a more laid back approach at bounty hunting and PvP, and even though there were a considerable number of decent PvPers in the faction over the years, they didn't put PvP and blues at top of their priority list, and actually focused on playing a bounty hunter, rather than just collecting bounties. Based on the numerous run-ins I've had with Faze, Blaze and the general Reaver copycat population over time, they all appear to be PvP oriented factions (which is not essentially a bad thing, but) if such play style is incorporated into the BHG|, it'd turn them into yet another gang of trigger-happy gun-for-hires with no distinct feature of their own.

To represent the official bounty hunter faction and to act as an example for every other hunter out there, you'd first need to reconsider your approach at hunting bounties. As things currently are, your group and groups similar to yours aim to post as many blues on boards as possible, and even though there's nothing wrong with that and that's why we have hunters in the first place, an official entity representing the main bounty hunting organization of vanilla needs to be more than that, and needs "hunter roleplay" on top of "hunter gameplay" - not just on forums, but ingame as well.

tl;dr - No offense to you bunch, but your play style does not suit anything more than a small-time merc gang, as you currently play. BHG| (ideally) needs to be more than that, and while your groups have only been active in "hunter gameplay", a BHG| faction needs to contribute to the server and the community with "hunter roleplay" on top of that.

I am not entirely sure what you mean. A bounty hunter is after blues, isn't he? I mean it his job, BHG is an organization that is built on blues.

I was in BHG| as well, and I fail to see how there was any more / less roleplay - you must be thinking of a BHG| that existed a very long time ago. I never experienced BHG| as anything other than hunters of blue messages since I started playing in 2009/2010, being frequently claimed and also flying in the faction myself.

And that is not a bad thing. BHG| is supposed to be the top blue-claiming outfit in Sirius.

On the other side of things, there is of course forum roleplay with regards to the Core and APM split, and I think we are capable of contributing on that front. There are some RP'ers that excel at forum stuff within the Faze faction, and I don't see why they aren't able to handle the forum roleplay side of the guild. There are also still the remaining BHG| members, some of which I know have ideas and visions for the faction - visions and ideas that could be lifted if an influx of experienced and keen players from Faze was to happen.

Personally I would like to see high standards of sportsmanship to set us apart from other merc factions; that is chill with solaris/missile/razor gunboats and offering targets duels when possible. That is of course something that needs to be discussed and formalized in some way, but I already think that Faze's approach is different to some of the more "eager" hunters out there, i.e. not throwing gunboats at snubs and using broken ships and excessive missile spam and keep things balanced to the extent it is possible.

To Hannibal: We are currently not very active because we are trying to reshape Faze. I think you'll find us a whole lot more active as BHG|. As I stated before, several of our members are/were BHG| members, but BHG| doesn't exist as a faction at the moment - there is nothing to apply to, which is exactly what we want to change.

If Impy feels like he is the current leader, he is more than welcome to contribute with his points of views. The idea is that we wan't to enrich the server by re-activating a Zombie faction, so all feedback is welcome - especially from players currently using the tag.

No offense Mimir, you know I love you and stuff, but I am kinda on the same boat as Aerelm.

BHG was more than that, when you played BHG you came to play more than just the blue taker (of course, there were this and that) - you came to play the (usually) ex-criminal that decided to retain his former hostile nature and lust for blood, and now only do it under the guise of having a more comfortable life serving the house.

That simply cannot be well represented with having faction that doesn't do much more than log when they see enemies around (which is just fine, that's what I literally did on my MM~ ), and to go shoot them up for blues.


What I cannot agree with Aerelm here, is that you shouldn't merge. You should given you adjust your roleplay to be more like an official faction that represents the Guild, minding what is said in this thread as well.

Honestly I think we should just give them a shot at it. Faze does at least have some depth to their characters, from what I've seen. And given their member base, I really don't doubt that they could still pull off decent RP whilst getting blues.

Well what the worse that can happen? Once people see it's alive again it can be shaped to fit the current time's of disco.

Right now even adding more Pvper to BHG| something they should have more of is not a bad thing as that's how it was start off.

To end off fresh eye's and new blood is a good thing.

In all seriousness, mixed feelings here. aerelm has something of a point. On the other hand, I do believe at least some (if not all) of the Faze players are fully capable of more than just gathering blues. I'd rather not see BHG| copy Faze's current behavior, though, which frankly is just "log, pew, log out.". Nothing wrong with that, true, but a little more flavor would be nice.

Hello.

I see some concerns that a revived BHG faction would not be up to the standards some people would like to see. That is fine, if someone created a thread asking for public opinion then they should be prepared for...public opinions.

However, in my view, saying "you have to do x, but you currently do y, so don't try" is unfair. I think if you're not convinced this is a good idea, you should say why and what needs to be done for it to be a good idea. Then allow the people who want to do it to take on your advice and allow them the chance to prove themselves. If they then mess up, it can be shut down. If it goes well then everybody benefits.
