Snoopy is the forum god of disco, I agree completely, I love using battleships and caps and sometimes snubs, but I like knowing that if theres a battleship next to me, it would be like "well ****"

Imagine being in some fun RP then some jackass uncloakes, drops two lines and kills you. Because I'm sure that you'll be right near me in the QQ train. Along with other people that got their fun ruined- not necessarily by cloaking guys. (:
Yet you forget its also fun for the other guy too. So your RP stops suddenly. Enemies can show up on scanner at 15k and still move in fast enough to ruin your day. I say kudos to a well executed stealth attack, they are fun and are actually rare to pull off right, with most ships in most cases.

I'm talking about insta-death.
If I see some reds on my scanner, tough luck- have to live with it. Maybe defend my position with the guy/girl I'm RPing, flee, or RP with the reds. Depends on the situation and the reds at hand.
Insta-death just means end of story and logging off, mainly because I can't interact nor see the same person for the next two hours, unless we Skype and agree to some Forum/Skype RP or something. But that's not always the case when you just met that person and you're RPing with a total stranger. RP is scarce these days, too, so this problem makes it even worse.
Related to Snoopy:
Now that's a good idea. Though it's rather impossible to do now, unless the Admins just scrap every Battleship in the game. That will cause a lot of rages/QQ's from the people and cause them to leave because the Admins are unjust or whatever.
Maybe if the credits used to buy the thing were returned. Maybe that could work. Who knows? Imho Battleships should just be used by Officials. At least we know the person behind that Battleship is a possible RPer and may or may not have a basic understanding of the English language and not simply go 'red is ded' and start shooting them Cerberus turrets against Snubs.
But yeah, make BSes stronger and seriously limited. Maybe then single bombers could be able to say "Oh, but it's a big ship, with big guns, and huge armor. I think I'll stick to killing Gunboats/Cruisers or bring a few other people to shoot this thing."
Again, though- Cloaking Battleships that would be even stronger would be horrible. And so I turn back to the idea of giving Battleships/Dreads to Officials only, preferably the members with the least amount of Troll/LolWut/2milordai experience. I'd prefer to talk to actual admirals instead of random hobos that just recently found out how to speak. Because that's how I feel every time I see a Cap in New York...
...or a cap in general, but that's beside the point.
Captain's right. Cloaks were made to hide, we don't need more nerfing on them. They are already pretty useless, if you are very far away from "home". But on the other hand, I agree with Phantom (oh my God, write that in calendars): BS should be REMOVED from the players with really bad English and bad RP.
There's yet another side of the coin: sometimes player do not have time for reaction and it applies to both sides - attacked and defender. Like a situation in which target is escaping and you can't really follow your target while doing "essays", unless it stopped.
Overall note at the end: if it's fault of some bad players, why to punish everyone around?
Why not just make it so that cloaks won't work within 5K of other players, including an automatic de-cloak when players get within range? Sort of like simple sneak mechanics from a bunch of other games, including multiplayer games, and it seems to have been working out alright for a decade or so of gaming.
The cloak user still gets 5K range on their prey, and they can catch up and CD before the other party will be able to enter cruise. The other party will have a few seconds to prepare when they see a baddie appear at 5K range, so no more insta'ing. There'll be a little more fun to it as a cloak user as you have to rely a little on guile and skill, in that you have to be able to keep other players at 5K to maintain stealth. More fun all round.

just leave them as they are. not my fault I'm able to hear people sneaking up on me or them being unable to hear, why would you even keep still in space, around others aswell.
don't forget they still need to charge up before attacking in most cases.
I hate to say this, but it really is a case of "get good" - with your reactions.

please refrain from posting such things as they are insensitive and are completely out of place. (also you're not funny - no offence)
aswell, I'd like to add, there is nothing wrong with them. It's like complaining about the way you fly, "nerf the ship" "buff it" - when in reality - it is the way you react.
cloaks are both an advantage and disadvantage, for what it is right now, I'd say it's okay. But remember, cloak disruptors and cloak relays are going to be a thing.
