I would most certainly write a novel concerning Bretonian territory under Gallic occupation and the daily life inside it through the eyes of select characters.
Precisely, I would write a science fiction novel that takes heavily from the realistic current.
Basically, I will emphasis on how the minor Bretonian nobility would seek to side with Gallia out of personal interest, seeing it as a chance to seize the power of the Bretonian higher nobility, gain prestige and more privileges. I would detail the lives and treatment of the casual folk, how the native Bretonians live under the regime and cope with the occupation force, the dissent, how some of them will antagonize their occupants while others will find a new blissful live under their new sovereigns. Basically, I would write about the concerns of the casual folk, both Bretonian natives and Gallic immigrants, their strives, their lives, and the way they are treated.
I would write about the senior Bretonian nobles, their loyalty to the Bretonian Crown and their continuous strife both against Gallia, and the minor nobility.
Furthermore, I would describe how everything became ravaged by piracy as pirates would take opportunity of the instability caused. I will describe their rise to power, as well as the Gallic Navy's arduous plans to exterminate disorder and piracy.
I will also write about the situation on the new border.
Basically, I would deliver a novel which conveys slices-of-life in this mentioned environment, political intrigues, and more. All in all, it would be a gray novel that will seek to emphasize the humanity on both sides of the conflict, Bretonian and Gallic, and create a conflict inside the reader's mind by giving him the options to be able to empathize with both sides equally.
What do you think? How would you trust my writing skills also?
I think it could certainly be very interesting, Ed. Bretonia is not really a Monarchy divided into Nobility in the traditional sense, but if you adopt them to be so it'll play out somewhat like Game of Thrones, imo.

It is a Constitutional Monarchy, as far as I remember.
It still has a Nobility as all Constitutional Monarchies yet they do not have the privileges they would have had in a traditional monarchy.
This will add more spice to the hypothetical novel. As you would have the minor nobility inclined to side with Gallia out of an appetite for a traditional-order and power while the seniors stay loyal to the House of Bretonia.
Asoiaf is mostly based upon the war for a single source of power that is the Iron Throne, invasion and the possible extinction of human species by some unknown species, and love triangles that caused most of the houses to fall, mostly ones that are yet to come...strictly sticking to the asoiaf timeline. Except for the last part, Disco kinda fits into that idea of asoiaf in space.
I think that alternative version of the whole Disco would be way better. I liked Gallia being a bit different and forcing the OC to be their vassals. Definitely more logical than going Blitzkrieg with ally of the Liberty Navy - which can concentrate onto one conflict only right now. Not to mention all the unlawful, rebel and terrorist factions on the Gallic back.
I want the Rheinland "Volksrevolution" to be much more developed. It's, at least to me, one of the most interesting storylines within Discovery is that of Rheinland's internal turmoil since the end of the Nomad War. I'm not sure what it would cover, precisely, but I think covering the back and forth between the Government and the freedom fighters as well as internal struggles between the VWA, Hessians, LWB, and Unioners would be quite interesting if done right.
I wouldn't mind writing stuff for the second nomad war. Personally I've already started my own for my Antares character....I suppose if you clump every rp story I've done since 2013 its gotta be close to a novel by now. Although I love writing my own I'd love the chance to write story for lore and etc. I can't program but story telling isn't out of my league. And, if I'm not writing I would have great fun helping others by revising and editing (washed up english minor over here).
I think the best way to describe Discovery in a literary form would be an unnecessarily long description of a group of people taking turns slamming their genitals on the table and waving it in one anothers' faces.
Throw in some conspir[A]cy and you're golden.
On a serious note, there could be millions of novels written about the universe just as is the case with many other universes. I'd like to see something involving the Daam K'vosh more than anything.

I'd buy that - sounds better than anything E l James could come up with. 50 Shades of Disco, anyone?
