I have been a trader most of my time here but I've also done a lot of piracy. Storks and 5kers in general are so easy to pirate is not funny. Jayce is right if you can't catch a stork you are doing -something- very wrong. Hell a well armed VHF can beat a stork anyday. And about mounting CAUs, any pilot who actually gives half a damn about their profits wont mount armor.

If 5ks are thrusting away from you, you're pirating in the wrong ship. Get a small transport.

Armor is not problem , nor the truster , BOMBER pirates are problem ! What choice transport has except dock to nearest station attempt ?
No trader will stay and fight against bomber , no mater what armor , shield , weapon or truster it has equipped , becouse it don't have 1 in 1000 chance of win !
So remove bomber pirating and allowe fighter pirating only ( or nerf bombers ) , and traders will stay and fight , isn't PEW better than pay , die or dock ?

I believe pavel just said a healthy dose of Pirate bias is necessary. This is just a recipe for killing pirate activity as a whole.
If you cant stand the heat of a bomber pirate, hire a gunboat freelancer or something, fly in a convoy.
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
The serious problem with Pirate - Trader interactions is that pirates are separated into cool pirates who demand REASONABLE monies and RP, and (bad word ) pirates who demand 50% of the profit. Maybe adding back sirius credit cards to NPC traders would be a good compromise as pirates would make money by killing NPCs when there are no players around. Nowdays being a pirate isn't really profitable and fact that some of them are (bad) discourages traders to interact with pirates as a whole
Just give 2mil sirius credit card for NPC transports and pirates will demand lower monies --> traders will want to speak with them

I agree with Croft on this one, most of my OSC fleet is outfitted with Cap 8 armor, 400 units of cargo is more than a worthy compromise that gives me the ability to make it to safety in just about any situation. Its not the Thruster that is letting me get away, its the battleship-like armor that I have.

Is there any good NPC cargo piracy spots in the mod now anyway for a Pirate Transport?
