I've made more than 10 events involving a wide range of people that can participate.
So ill just pull myself out of being put to blame. I have done my part but looks like not a lot of people want to come just because they dont like me personally or the faction. Its k. Have fun looking for other events. My hands are clean from this.

most of them were races, yes.
Have I thought about this? Yes.
I still stand by my statement since I heard it personaly.
For the record: everyone (or 99%) of people that gave feedback had a great time in "rrraaacccing" events. Even when they were skeptical.
Its pretty much like the trying to feed a baby cabbage in a hunger depression. Most babies wont like it but then when they try it they will eat more.
The subject at hand here is in regards to the event plugin system we have. Your race events don't make use of that, but It's good that you make events when you can within your ability. However the issue is when there's need for Staff input via the relevant plugins, because the vision for the event is beyond the ability of a community member, and then everything starts to stagnate and fall apart.
What we do not need is this general negativity and pointing blame towards someone.
I do not think anybody can be surprised that the staff's motivation to inject time and effort into an event is low when one sees what happened in and after the last one.
However, I think we can agree that the event system is a great thing that creates a dynamic environment where Disco cannot offer that normally. And that's why we should try it again because despite all the nay-sayers and the angry feedback, it is still a good feature and it makes Disco a better game.
Of course we don't need this negativity, but it's still only what we have. What I think we'd need is a use of the currently idle event system, for that I'm not the only one who made event (series) proposals in the past. But we don't have that, no matter how we agree over it being a good thing to have if it's not in use. Thus all is left are threads like this, no matter if we need them or not, these are what we have.

you need full access to set up events and such(by that i mean access to server side files) so its not possible to have game masters
but going through the event file...it should be quite easy to set up and give it to someone else(ie:admins)
From my experiences the Event plugin is not so hard to understand. I have made a couple of events on my own private server. There were a few errors but I found it easy to do after a while.
